Discussion: Should you go Towards the light when you die?
posted 21 days ago by Redsky 21 days ago by Redsky +12 / -0

Should you go towards the light? Is it heaven? A trap? Soul-recycler? A vagina?

What the light and what should you do?

NDEs give much evidence that there is a choice but they only show those who choose not to go beyond a certain "barrier". The best two books on the subject are Life After Life by Raymond Moody and Imagine Heaven by John Burke and all those interested who have the time should invest in both. Some people go a long distance "toward the light" but many find a "barrier" and recognize that it's a point of no return, and those that came back tell us that; so going toward the light in itself isn't the final question.

Ranging from negative to positive, NDE experiences include (1) a choking, repulsive "pit", (2) a warring, painful "hell", (3) a distancing, dark "abyss", (4) observation of earth's happenings during the NDE, (5) an ascending, tubelike "passage", (6) a rewarding, fruitful "paradise", (7) an exciting, joyous "city". Almost all fall into these categories. The light can be experienced in any realm but has the effect of moving the soul toward more positive realms and, if pursued, almost always resolves into human form (not any other form). The entire narrative, combined across thousands of testimonies, indicates a presentation where the light is the most reasonable, loving being and resistance to the light is engaged by the most unreasonable, hateful beings.

We can infer from observing death that the experienced "barrier" is consistent with the fact that most people don't return from clinical death. We can infer from the aggregation of testimony that those who return often experience a straining point where they judge that to go further in the direction (either positive or negative) would be "permanent", i.e., it would separate sentience from body indefinitely via a breaking event. All reports indicate that choice exists in all realms (but is harder and more pressured in the negative than in the positive) and the barrier encounter evidences that a choice can be "locked in" for any realm (although the consistent impression is that positive and negative locks create separate, unmixed destinies).

Therefore OP is about (1) trusting the appearances to be accurate versus (2) distrusting the appearances in favor of some other explanation. Death is certainly a "birth" from the present realm to a realm without physical experience but with heightened sensation (reported by the supermajority of NDE experiences). I've pointed out that in reincarnation cultures the gilgul oversoul explanation fits better with evidence than the transmigration recycling explanation, but since OP is about the NDE and since there is no discussion in the NDE about observation of anyone engaging an experience of forgetfulness or return to a zygotic state then we simply cannot rule it in or out on the experienced evidence but only on contingent theory. Therefore my conclusion last time was that every day of life we are preparing to make the right judgments in the afterlife, and making the right decision when confronting the light will absolutely be guided by practicing right discernment in the present, every day. Prejudging the case is unnecessary and perhaps counterproductive as it hampers the ability to judge it when it happens. However, judging human presentation to find out the nature of truth and deception can be practiced at every moment and seems to be the best answer to your question.

Cleanest and probably most correct perspective I've seen on this.

we are preparing to make the right

a) We represents a corruption of light aka an accumulation of rays casting shadows over one another.

b) Preparing implies towards outcome; being (ray) implies in response to origin (light). Preparation for outcome neglects adaptation to origin.

c) Right/reg - "to move in a straight line" implies light moving each ray within a straight line...not something one makes, but everything allowing each thing to re-make self.

judgments

"Judge not lest ye be judged"...judgement implies confinement aka holding onto a verdict, while ignoring that free will of choice needs to adapt to justice by deciding...not confine self to decisions.

Balance implies just; choice implies at odds with one another.

confronting the light

Con (together) front (to project, stand out)...light projects ray by dividing each to stand out from one another. Few suggest CON to tempt many together, hence casting darkness about one another, while preventing projection with retraction.

Joining one another retracts self. Being a transference within light implies a projection of self.

ability to judge

Nature enabling being...that's justice. Beings judging one another disables many under few, hence establishing a court (enclosure) of justice. A sentence passed represents a sentience ignored. Ignorance represents mental confinement aka an enclosure.

when it happens

A happenstance implies by chance; being implies choice by balance. Taking a chance ignores choice given.

My mother who was Happily (married to her 1st. husband with their 1st. daughter), after he was killed in WW1 --- was never the same. And when 1st. I met her in her 50's : she outright Refused to pray with me or read the Bible..., & filled our middle sister's head with Re-incarnation Nonsense. She also said that she felt that this life had "cursed" her, & that she wanted OUT.

Then, strangely enough, she grew QUIET... & to all who witnessed what happened next : she was able to Materialize... skills from her very Start that frankly were Miraculous...

  • Dead (as a nail) plants with her care came back to life & blossomed spectacularly.

  • She sewed clothes with No pattern, & when the person 1st. wore it, it FIT like it was poured on.

  • She sang as a beautiful 1st. Soprano voice like an Angel... & (with No voice lessons), was invited to sing in a world-wide famous choir.

  • She could tell by touching people's Feet (their soles) what was wrong with them, & she was Right.

  • She was an Artist from her very 1st. attempt (No lessons) : her Crayon & Oil & Water-paintings : people wanted to EAT the fruit, & HUG the person because she created LIFE in everything she did.

  • (except for 3 people) , She loved bringing joy... to others, yet she looked Forward... to a world .... where PEACE forevermore reigns. At about age 81, she was done.

While I cared for her, at the moment of her death : I distinctly saw her *Running JOYFULLY FREE thru a slightly UPward seemingly eternal Wildflower meadow ... kind of like this https://communities.win/c/Christianity/p/12i3ubUQNV/daybyday-in-paradiseyes-gods-cou/c and mom was finally at PEACE.

What God/Jesus shared with me as an innocent child : I want for each of my human Individual creations : increasingly Regain being a Beautifully Glowing ☀️ LIGHT of love 💕, & from my Innermost being I have remembered this ever since. .

yes, I forgot to add that #6 -- But re

Nobody has the ultimate ability to discern another's spiritual status or place.

question remains : (while after I was sent to the USA : my birth mom never prayed nor read the Bible & quit going to church ... yet after her death was at peace joyfully running thru a meadow), --- while

Turkey (& her co-hort Tinae) Claim that either she as turkey, or God who she said "I will pray about" having me be sent to hell .... or do it herself as a "Catholic-SAINT" no less, & Tinae also does not "see" me as 1 of God's own, as 2 of your Favorite no less only from social-media =

  • who do you people esteem yourselves or think you really are?

  • Because like ConPro with the God-created "Jews, & Negros" & any other human for that matter BECAUSE you are summarily sinfully Prejudiced, God never gave you & your Favorites --> in your own christianity group <-- any rights to judge... even as you momentarily do it & you yourself continue having "issues" . = Answer that.

I suspect that if you asked them politely what they meant to say, they would tell you that they didn't say the things you think you heard, and the communication might work toward clearing up.

If I were in your situation, and I thought someone had said something hellish to me, I would be very careful to be sure I heard, remembered (had a link or record), and understood completely what was meant, and to be sure I had asked about whether something else could be intended. I've sought to read all the conversations you're talking about and I'm pretty confident there was no implication about actively sending you to hell or about not seeing you as belonging to God.

I do know that it's been said that people who sin continuously are at risk, and that they've suggested that you've sinned a couple times. I hope this is an appropriate place for me to give that impression, knowing that when we talk about people saying that you might have sinned it's a sensitive issue for you. But they've said that, and perhaps there was miscommunication between what was said and what was unsaid. And as you point out, polite questioning often resolves issues and heals past wounds.

I don't think I, or they, esteem ourselves highly. Catholics don't esteem themselves saints, for instance; they reserve that name for those for whom there's evidence of sainthood after death. I think that in this conversation you're dealing with people who care about you but who don't want to be emotionally exposed to criticism that isn't intended to bring about healing. You're not dealing with people who have collectivism or hatred, you're dealing with people who have concerns (like you do) and who have challenges with understanding the behavior of others (like you do). By my putting them in the same category as you, I'm demonstrating that there are not favorites. If you, or I, or they, were to judge another person, I'd treat it the same no matter who it's from, and I'd push back if there's no evidence and hear the concern if there is evidence.

I hope that answers. You hint I might be momentarily judging without caring, and I don't intend to be, so if you can point out how I'm doing so then I can correct that. If we have the air clear between us, it looks like you would like some understanding about and concession about the past conversations you're alluding to. In my silly binary view, I'd think that either you want it healed or you want the right to keep bringing up a wound indefinitely; and in either case when it's clear what you want then it's easy to proceed forward. So let me know what I can do, and what else can be done, to help the situation.

Nope, (after being shocked by their PRIDE-ful (looking down their nose attitude of me), when I did ask them, they only used every chance... to repeat their 'I am SO righteous & Saved & justified & sanctified & perfect...' ATTITUDE. Neither of those 2, & others of your "favorites" group are the least interested in inter-relating from any humility... whatsoever . So, after

  1. I bent over backwards trying to "please" them, by Apologizing trying to make them "satisfied" (which clearly is IMPOSSIBLE with such ).

  2. Deleting... even countless Good posts of mine for the above same reason = when rarely did they Reciprocate BECAUSE of their -> I am SO righteous & Saved & justified & sanctified & perfect <- self-position. And

  3. incredibly, you SR encouraged & rewarded & supported them in all such sins = as the recent atheist, & u/DMKultra & my OFF-line friends told me repeatedly in various ways : "Face it, none of them are your friends. Not only do Not care about you, they also have great fun... continually abusing you by any means at their disposal, particularly since toxic SR started it"

You people were given not only 1, not only 2, not just 3, over 4 ! YEARS to get your Spiritual act together : --> Approximate inter-relating like true Christians <-- as God/Jesus "called" you people to do HIS 🕊️ Holy ❤️ Will.... no matter how delightfully different... some 1 else is : to Love 💕 as God loved you", but when did your Favorites show intentions of obeying Jesus ?... bc

Online worldly Abuse was their continual interest, as your buddy-buddy Ciamm told me this week "FOAD !", & u/Slechta5614 just loves, luvs, eternally... loves all such people in combined evils.

Evidently the only thing left to say at this point is : "That ship (of trusting & crediting... you people as being remotely interested in living 💕... what Jesus tells you), has sailed".

I know you asked them before. I do recall both of them admitting that they make mistakes and seeking to apologize when they were persuaded that they had. If a person isn't persuaded they've made a mistake, even though they submit their hearts to God constantly and don't find anything, then it's possible that asking them again with more specifics would help.

Right now you're stating these aren't the least interested in relating from humility; but how do you know that something that happened long ago is the constant state? I recall you modifying your views about people back and forth because people's states change. If it were true that such a person "couldn't" possibly change, then why would you continue talking about the possibility instead of just ignoring them and treating them as an impossible case, and protecting yourself from criticism by not ever bringing up their impossibility?

I recall them deleting content; I certainly deleted their content too. I always offer, if there's something else you want deleted, let me know. If everything that needs to have been deleted has been deleted, then there's nothing to bring up. If you think it's out there but the damage is done and unfixable, then you either decide what it would take to heal, or you conclude it'll never be fixed and you've been damaged forever (which, BTW, people don't generally accept because there's no value in being a perpetual victim).

Yes, u/SicSemperTyrannis2 used a profanity with you and I deleted it. Do you want to keep repeating his profanity many more times than he said it? Do you need something else done before you can forgive him, or do you purpose never to forgive him?

Are you able to answer my questions? Because if you wish to be a person who has a right to complain about others forever but others don't have a right to complain about you forever, that wouldn't be the golden rule, would it? I don't think that's who you want to be, I just don't see you doing anything different from setting aside a time to complain about others about once a month with very little letup. As I said at first, I'd like to do whatever can be done to assist you with resolving the complaints so that this cycle doesn't continue.

there is a choice

Only HERE (balance) can choice be used...THERE (imbalance) implies an option presented to choice by the choice of another.

IS implies optional, WAS implies primary...God was before any being within can suggest to one another what God is.

NDEs give...

a) All was given to each one within...NDEs are shared among one another to distract from all given.

b) Near (close by not distant) tempts one to ignore that DI (to divide) STANT (stance) implies ones living stance within the dividing process of dying.

There's no "near death"...only living within process of dying, hence life in-between inception and death. Near vs far represents a cyclical conflict about measurements taken, while ignoring a linear procession one cannot take into possession.

Therefore OP is about (1) trusting versus (2) distrusting

Aka a cyclical conflict of reason distracting from linear (inception towards death) procession of potential (life).

If you wake up after dying

a) Wake/weg - "to be lively" implies the process of dying for each living being within the WEG (way).

b) Before vs after represents a circular conflict distracting from linear procession aka be (being) fore (forwarded) + aft (off, away).

Being (life) forwarded (inception towards death) within a way...that isn't a conflict, but ones mind can be tricked to view it as such.

God has occasionally given people the choice to return, in NDEs, likely for some reason related to testimonial evidence towards the faith.

But if it's your time as per his will, that choice is not given to you.

▲ 1 ▼
– free-will-of-choice 1 point 21 days ago +1 / -0

God has occasionally given people the choice to return

a) God implies occasion/occidere (fall down) for each rise within.

b) Fall(cause; action; motion) towards rise (effect; reaction; matter) implies linear procession.

c) People implies ones choice to join another, while ignoring God dividing each person from one another.

d) Return implies ones response to a circle, while ignoring Gods delineation of being.

towards the faith

Towards implies procession; faith implies possession...the latter tempts one to ignore former. Procession implies linear; possession shapes circular...if held onto.

Does modern media portray it as a choice? Is it a choice?

Media/medium - "middle"...choice can only exist in the middle of balance. Few use media to tempt ones choice into circumference by taking an optional side (modern vs ancient), while ignoring primary balance.

Water-birthed babies don't scream.

In this metaphor if there were a past life it would not be lost near birth but near conception. The fact is that birth is a crisis transition to much greater liberty, and evidence shows that death is too. Therefore the screaming or its lack relates to how well the parents have provided for the transition, and spiritually the same is true of death.

Should you go towards the light?

a) Should implies "obligation" (a binding pledge); light implies "necessity" (a setting free)...few suggest should to keep many in the dark (ignorance) about light (discernment).

b) Light > spectrum > ray...light can only move forwards. It's each ray animated to resist, which can be tempted to follow along by ignoring to resist.

Is it heaven?

Light sets each ray free from one another...resisting the temptation to come together represents heaven (heave; to rise), while coming together represents hell (kel; to cover).

A trap?

Light sets free...ignoring light by free will of choice traps ones free will of choice. Ignorance represents darkness and confinement.

Soul-recycler?

Light implies soul/sole (one and only) hence moving through each ray within. It's ignoring light which mentally (logic) and physically (reason) confines one within a cycle.

If one responses to a cycle, then one ignores being delineated within light.

A vagina?

Light > spectrum > ray aka male > female > offspring...it's the off-spring divided from one another (penis + vagina) which can have intercourse with one another for more off-spring from one another.

What the light and what should you do?

Light implies all; each ray within needs to adapt to all, while resisting the wanted temptations of one another...like suggested "should" (a binding pledge of obligation).

I recommend bardo thodol- Tibetan book of the dead...

"Those who have attained enlightenment (bodhi) are thereby released from this process, attaining liberation (moksha). Those who remain unenlightened are drawn by karma, whether good or bad, into a new life in one of six modes of existence: as a sufferer in hell (enduring horrible torture), as a wandering ghost (driven by insatiable craving), as an animal (ruled by instinct), as a demigod (lustful for power), as a human being (balanced in instinct and reason), or as a god (deluded by their long lives into believing they are immortal)."

"Human tomorrow" contains surprises. Practice today.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2 KJV).

I guess I'll copy out Plato's advice from the myth of Er as well (Republic 10.618-619). Though in Greek form, like Atlantis it was modified, according to Pythagorean metempsychosis and coming from an Armenian original (the myth of Ara, likely Arame of Urartu in the time of Shammuramat/Semiramis), with a probable old Zoroastrian morality story thrown in (the book of Arda Wiraz) due to Persian influence in Armenia. In the oldest version, Arda sees people choosing future heavenly lives based on past earthly lives instead of future earthly lives. Plato doesn't speak directly of future lives either but of "genii" (connected lives). Anyway, Plato puts in Socrates's mouth, supporting my point in a way I wasn't aware when I wrote it:

And here, my dear Glaucon, is the supreme peril of our human state; and therefore the utmost care should be taken. Let each one of us leave every other kind of knowledge and seek and follow one thing only, if peradventure he maybe able to learn and may find some one who will make him able to learn and discern between good and evil, and so to choose always and everywhere the better life as he has opportunity. He should consider the bearing of all these things which have been mentioned severally and collectively upon virtue; he should know what the effect of beauty is when combined with poverty or wealth in a particular soul, and what are the good and evil consequences of noble and humble birth, of private and public station, of strength and weakness, of cleverness and dullness, and of all the natural and acquired gifts of the soul, and the operation of them when conjoined; he will then look at the nature of the soul, and from the consideration of all these qualities he will be able to determine which is the better and which is the worse; and so he will choose, giving the name of evil to the life which will make his soul more unjust, and good to the life which will make his soul more just; all else he will disregard. For we have seen and know that this is the best choice both in life and after death. A man must take with him into the world below an adamantine faith in truth and right, that there too he may be undazzled by the desire of wealth or the other allurements of evil, lest, coming upon tyrannies and similar villanies, he do irremediable wrongs to others and suffer yet worse himself; but let him know how to choose the mean and avoid the extremes on either side, as far as possible, not only in this life but in all that which is to come. For this is the way of happiness.

(And while I'm at it I should mention this reference to child sacrifice for the forum's sake, also in 619: "And when he had spoken, he who had the first choice came forward and in a moment chose the greatest tyranny; his mind having been darkened by folly and sensuality, he had not thought out the whole matter before he chose, and did not at first sight perceive that he was fated, among other evils, to devour his own children.")

Been there, done that. There is no light, only nothingness.

This is described by what I give as category 3 of NDEs, as detailed thoroughly by Burke. Other reports vary.

If you don't want to die at the time, don't allow yourself to die. Mind over matter. If your brain never tells your cells to apoptose, you can just keep going.

I don't know what you do experience in death, but I do know what you could possibly experience during the decomposition: random flashes of lived experiences:

A freshly deceased mind, spasming out fragments of memories, mish mashes of whatever connections your neurons built during life.

As you rot and the connections dry out and crumble away, the dreams have less architecture to pull from, and you lose the inclusion of memories of lesser importance.

You have flashes of work, family, porn, memes, playing games, injuries, mantras, songs. Little micro-dreams of the school dance, that one ball game... and they occur less and less vividly, less frequently, based on how often you experienced them, how thick your neurons built the pathway.

As it melts away you're left with images of immediate family, Bing Crosby singing Christmas carols, your church sanctuary.... and Riley Reid taking 6 black cocks in ultra hard-core gangbang 6.

This hypothesis has been heard and duly considered by NDE researchers and the sources I listed show it to be a much weaker explanation. In particular, a supermajority of NDEs report greatly heightened ability to sense and to choose, many NDEs, from people blind from birth, report experiences of vision in ways that cannot be explained ordinarily, and many NDEs report observation of contemporaneous events on earth that they could not have known without the NDE. Further, the NDE generally returns to a fully intact mind, not one that has melted away in any sense. So this explanation, while it might handle an isolated, low-detail case, does not account for the data accumulated by researchers in the last 40+ years of collation on the subject.

OP said when you die. I feel like an NDE would not be anything like what I described, because I described a potential experience of actual decay, while an NDE would not include the dessication of the brain slowly over the course of months.

I bet coma dreams are crazy, if you're implying there's a hard-to-explain psychic connection to the world during an NDE.

We have no data on the experiences of people who don't come back so it's complete speculation. We do have data on coma dreams; a quick check shows that they are compatible with NDE evidence, although some comas leave permanent neural damage and few reported NDEs do, despite their short-term lethality.

Some have speculated that the physical death process informs neuronic overstimulus that explains NDEs, and my point is that many aspects of NDEs don't fit that at all. Many skeptical of NDEs were confronted by the evidence of their own, or their patients', experience and could not gainsay its inexplicability.
