A well thought out post. The biggest issue I see with this being the new paradigm is, who will do the work? Examples being...
Who will be the farmers? Who will be the construction workers? Who will manufacturer product?
Farms have been upgrading to more AI every year. Chemical herbicides are now being applied via cameras identifying the weed and directly applied to greatly reduce the amount needed. Many tractors and harvest machines are being driven with GPS. The farmer still has the risk to make profit.
Construction, will 3D printers become the new workers? Likely over time. But who will make the 3D printers?
A great reduction in work force will be the result of cheap alternative energy and many people are going to feel entitled to not need to work (basic income).
A large culling of the population would need to take place to make it work or millions of people will be acting like fools.
I for one would like to see it take place, but I can also see the pitfalls.
I've discussed this subject with close friends and we determined the only way to expose this technology if developed is to blast the plans and study papers online for free in many locations at the same time. Absolute chaos would be the result, but who's to say that's bad?
