I've talked with other mods and I am proposing the current changes I've implemented. I have changed the side bar from:
Warning: Some describe this as a "fringe" conspiracy forum. If you're afraid of the info you may encounter here, please confine yourself to Win's safe-space conspiracy forum, here.
Which oddly links to; c/GreatAwakening. Not sure why Clems did that, but, I don't like it, seems suspect. Further, not sure why they are trying to make out conspiracy theories as fringe or scary?
I replaced it with:
Conspiracies.win: This is a forum for free thinking and for discussing issues which have captured your imagination. Please respect other views and opinions, and keep an open mind. Our goal is to create a fairer and more transparent world for a better future.
and further outlined:
The Golden Rule: Be respectful. Attack the argument, not the person.
Thus, establishing the Ethos of this forum (set in stone). This was the Ethos I agreed upon when Axo made me a mod here first when we both were purged from Reddit. Me first, then him. Thank god for us creating Voat accounts back in the day. Still pissed some top mind took my original Putin_loves_cats original username here. Anwyays...
Clems had this as a general disclaimer:
Submissions of exceptionally low quality, trolling, spam, and those submissions determined to be intentionally misleading, may all be removed.
I built off this and replaced it with:
Disclaimer: Submissions/comments of exceptionally low quality, trolling, stalking, spam, and those submissions/comments determined to be intentionally misleading, calls to violence and/or abuse of other users here, may all be removed at moderator's discretion.
This is what I propose to the community and other mods here (ie. Axo, me, and Clems). The sidebar can always be reverted back if the response calls for it (from the community and my other co-mods) and I will concede.
Weigh in with your thoughts and opinions. Furthermore, you have a more artistic tongue in legalese, propose any alteration to the disclaimer to make it less ambiguous and more succinct. I suck at legalese.
I have literally never seen you active on this site until like this week and now you’re coming in demanding changes. Very girl boss of you
i was thinking the very same thing. PLC was around in the beginning then pretty much disappeared for what...? 2 years? now it's back and saying how things are going to be run?
Never seen you
been here since day 1 with diff accounts. if u haven't seen this account then you haven't been paying attention.
and are apparently incapable of deciphering my user name.
My reggin!
My hurbharb!
Kek. I'll always laugh at girl boss these days.
In PLC's defense, no - I see his comments around the site from time to time.
Never seen you
Fuck anyone who can’t handle a bunch of words. Heavy moderation is what Reddit was for.
I think the issue is not the words that are said - of course one can ignore words - but the use of posts to either bombard or to contaminate discussions to push them off course. Reddit was so fail in that it tolerated bots and gang attacking including Megaphone-organized swarms of reporting to crush contrary opinions.
What we need here is ability to tamp down the campaigns not the individual speakers speech.
Precisely this.
Irrelevant argument
No one is saying you can't use words. But, a house without a foundation is destined to fail.
This was a reference to the GAW sidebar. A user pointed out to me that they have a link in their sidebar to our community. They direct users here for "fringe", NON-Q-focused, conspiracy discussion. I thought that was pretty funny.
I didn't intend for it to be permanent. Anyway, the thing about the sidebar is, only desktop users can see it. Many mobile device users don't even know it exists. For a rule to be visible to mobile users, it will have to be entered using the "manage rules" mod tool. Then it will show up under the "about community" tab on the mobile version of the community.
EDIT: Also, then it might show up twice on sidebar, not sure how that works on desktop site.
Red herring
Cool?
Yet, it's been here for how long?
Don't really care about mobile users, tbh. Last I checked, there is no app and these wins aren't mobile friendly. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the majority here use desktop like myself.
Anyways, care to chime in on the finer details, as a co-mod.
The site uses the "web app" function. You go to the domain on mobile device web browser, and an option pops up to "install website as app" or "install webapp" - something like that. Then "scored" or "win" shows up as an app on the device. The admin seemed to put a lot of their focus for a while into developing that mobile UI, I think they must have quite a lot of mobile users. It seems to be their intention to eventually get an actual app into app stores. I have used that mobile UI to moderate when I've been away.
Don't use the mobile app, so I have no idea what you are talking about, nor do I see how this is relevant to the conversation at hand. You are a mod here and I altered the sidebar, established ethos, and rules.... Yet, here you are talking to me about the mobile app and not the issue at hand.
It's relevant because probably half the users who use the site don't see a sidebar. I have no complaints or issues with the changes you've made. I will copy the txt into the manage rules section for mobile users.
I use mobile.
I think C just fixed the mobile sidebar thing 2-3 weeks ago, I see the proper sidebar now, on mobile
I doubt it's half, but, hey... What do I know, though? I'm on here via Desktop and TOR. Glad to hear you have no objections, though.
Umm, who the fuck are you and why are you trying to pick a fight?
Duly noted.
I was wondering how long it would take before this sub was jedditized. I'm curious as to why anyone that participated in allowing /r/conspiracy to become a cesspool of globalist propaganda would even be considered as a mod here.
PLC had nothing to do with the downfall of r/con, in fact he was a pretty darn good contributor. He only became a mod here at communities after we migrated.
Though I do find it hilarious that an account which was basically inactive for the last two years has decided to “right the ship” at the same time as reddit was full of inactive mods attempting to usurp communities from active mods - not to say PLC is attempting a coup, but he could certainly do with less attacks/hostility against the guy who kept this place running while he was gone.
How in the world is me setting in stone direction and adding structure to the forum "Jedditizing" (whatever that means)?
It's obvious you have no idea about my history there or here. I was damn near one of the most vocal opponents against it becoming what is has become. I spent years warning Axo and other mods there of the evil forces and what they were doing. Turns out I was right, to a fuckin' tee. So much so, Axo even told me that he should've listened to me sooner.
Top minds
Ah, so it was a petty tit-for-tat.
Dafuq?
You did take this one step closer to a "safe space"
Do you lock your doors at night? Congrats, you just created a "safe space" for yourself.
Lol, physical safe space vs virtual safe space. Not so good with analogies, are you?
TIL, asking a question is "attacking the user, not the argument". Damn, you learn something retarded every day!
I'm great with analogies. You wouldn't happen to be a hypocrite, now would you?
I'm certainly not someone who attacks the user and not their argument. Irony is tasty
Exactly. Fuck off.
Traditional bot
Thanks for your quality input.
I am not interested in any form of censorship or limiting peoples ability to use words to communicate.
There is no set of words that can be used to injure someone.
I think in my time on this forum with the degree of moderation we had everything has been pretty good, we have seen the userbase of normal posters carry on and continue posting, we also have a few new posters.
Plenty of leftism from reddit and coward handshake accounts come around and say stupid things and act ignorant.
tldr; There is no need for anything further; the foundation this forum rests on is solid. The people here now are the ones that matter.
Nonsense, this site turned to shit in January
Did reddit take over c/conspiracies?
CIA / FBI, not reddit. Mods are comprised and being forced to make it "safe"
No, and if you knew anything about me, you'd know that reddit and the mods of /r/conspiracy have no love for me. They perma suspended me in the second round of the Great Purge.
Very odd, the non-responses from both you and Axo, who profusely apologized to me by DM for banning me, then simply ignored anything else I said.
And that's not even mentioning Clem and his flat Earth bs. Why are the mods mocking users of the board? It's literally the OPPOSITE of moderation.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I never banned you, nor do I remember ever talking to you. As for Clems and his bias against FE, I cannot really comment on it. I don't know the dude and I suppose we all have our bias. Do I think he should be more open minded about it? Yes, I am. I don't believe in FE but I could care less if you do or want to post/talk about it. I'm not one of those "hurr durr, FE is just to make us look st00pid". As if half the shit we talk about doesn't already do that amongst the normies. I could give two shits what others (especially normies) think. I am who I am.
The flat earth thing isn't really that important, it's Clem banning people that talk about specific shills. especially if they make a post about it. That's extremely disturbing. It's no different than Reddit at all, where AssuredlyAThrowaway used alts or protected alts that attacked the users.
Clem even took to mocking me personally for talking about it, and threatened me with permanent banning. I would not doubt that some shills are his alts alone.
Explain this vague quote in more detail, I dare you.
Yeah, there's that great attitude.
Thanks for the display!
Evasion. So, were you being intentionally vague because you can't back up your claims? That's my guess anyway.
Like I said, I don't know Clem and had been away for some time so not sure what they've been up to whilst I was gone. If what you're saying is true, then that is not good, I agree. However, that reminds me more of Amos not AATA on /r/conspiracy. I'm 98% sure that Amos is TMOR who created alts to attack and troll users into bans there. Ultimately, what would you like me to do? Axo is head mod here, not me.
Oh I agree about Amos as well. He still goes off the deep end just in comments alone with that account sometimes. Like almost zero restraint.
I don't expect you to do anything, just making you aware.
Just strange...Axo is head mod, you're obviously a regular from Reddit (and we did have a few brief exchanges on there), and then this weird dude does all the actual moderating. I also believe that his name is even taken from the one guide with the 15 ways to detect disinformation agents (I think it even used to be in the Reddit conspiracy sub sidebar). There's a sentence about people that "cleverly manuever" themselves into moderating positions. Cute.
Aren't we supposed that dude in the sidebar with the raised eyebrow? ;:-/
He knows he's protected. Ask him about Sheesie, lmfao it's his cryptonight. He is doing the same shit under the moniker of icky (and others). I've called that dude out so many times, it ain't even funny. Not sure if you were around during the game of trolls on Reddit, but, he came from that era,
Well, thanks for letting me know. I'll keep my eye out. I told Clems I wasn't happy with what I saw was going on when I came back. Still waiting to here back from axo about a few things.
As for the rest of what you said, yea... I don't know. I don't know how he became a mod here or why Axo made him one. He claims to be someone from /r/conspiracy but I don't ever remember that username, and I have a damn good memory. So, not sure how it all happened. I verified myself to Axo via Voat before it shut down, on accounts we both made back in the day.
We are supposed to be, which is why I'm trying to turn the ship into the original direction (ie. Why I even approached Axo to help make this place into something after being burned by Reddit).
I did all the actual moderating because no other mod was here to do it. For long stretches other mods did not show, and when they did it's only very briefly. I put that raised eyebrow dude in the sidebar. And this conversation is raising my eyebrow right now.
Lmao, my user name is even more clever than that, I'm afraid. Try again.
Axo banned me for a month and old Clem' there threatened me with permanent banning for simply talking about the banning of shills on here.
Old Clem' also promoted a gibberish post by an occultist. Stickied it even. And then was quite derogatory towards those who questioned it. Very, very weird stuff.
What happens when a mod breaks that rule?
They will be dealt with just like how a user is dealt with. Furthermore, that is a part of the ethos. The disclaimer is the structure.
I think you had good contributions and activity is always welcome.
But u/clemaneuverers has been really active for years, basically the only visible mod.
I think he has done a good job at being consistent and active.
Even I know that the disclaimer was aimed at GAW because they were/are being crazy and nasty towards us and free thinkers.
At least half the people here use mobile or know about the disclaimer.
But I like the new disclaimer you created for bringing more people in.
I just think we have to acknowledge and respect the work Clem has done. I only saw you post at the beginning when you moved your stuff over.
I'm happy to see you posting again but let's all have respect :) like they say - if you don't know why a fence was built, be careful about taking it down.
Maybe you can add the old 4chan debating rules about straw man, ad hominem etc. :)
Doggos, IIRC, is an admin who's only purpose is to make sure this forum doesn't break site wide (.win) TOS. Axo is the head mod here.
I could be wrong, but, I was always under the impression he was an admin. Why else would he be above Axo? Axo got the domain but the infrastructure is .win's (ie. Where ever this domain name points to).
To my knowledge, that is not how these .wins work. Axo bought the domain name and .win (network/now scored) provides the hosting/forum. Doggos, is a part of ".win" admin. He created the sub, because axo asked. Here is the run down. Axo buys domain->ask win->win agrees and creates forum->Axo points domain to it->admin give Axo sub to Axo whilst still controlling it. It's their servers/infrastructure. Axo owns the "conspiracies.win" domain name, but not the forum you and me are talking on.
Think for yourself
Will this be handled like it was on /r/conspiracy where the rules were used as excuse to ban some users while others were allowed to break them with no consequences?
I have a hunch that this is the real reason.
No, this is simply adding structure to deal with bad actors.
We will see. You were one of the mods at r/conspiracy who protected some users and arbitrayly banned others so please excuse me that I remain skeptical.
I was never a mod on /r/conspiracy which is one of the reasons Axo brought me on board here. You have no idea about who I am, and my history here and on Reddit.
My apologies for spreading misinformation. My bad.
Feds love this trick
While I am not fond of the kind of censorship that a companion sub practices, and I do want conspiracies to be a pretty open forum, we do need a way to turn off repeat offenders and trolls. I personally do that using the Settings ability to block a user when that person is an ongoing troll or annoyingly stupid coughFEcough.
I support posting rules because if a user does not know the rules it is unjust to censor or ban them. However, the rules must be non-politically biased, to ensure open discussion. A certain other sub is exactly Reddit-like in how it exerts a Nazi-level of power-seeking suppression of any and all dissenting opinion. That is a sign of dictatorship, and that sub is hypocritical in that.
Let this sub be open to most all except for spammers and outright attempts to false flag us as hatespeechers by planting obvious troll speech.
And by the way, I respect you all on both sides of the mod issue. I expect all of us to stay cool and respect each other and no John Wick 4 endings.
All rules will benefit the fed
You keeping the transparency showing a log of moderator actions?
Of course, I never mentioned anything even hinting at their removal.
Can you also make a suggestion on the rules page to link to archive.ph or archive.is etc? Just like the Chan's had. It helps keep a back up. Plus, websites can track where the traffic is coming from. Archives keeps us off the radar.
Maybe also some suggestions for video Downloaders, twitter downloaders, and opsec.
I am totally guilty of being lazy too but the Chan's had it autistic ally correct.
I suggest that users who disagree with any of this should simply demand their money back and leave.
Strawman
a) moderation limits transparency.
b) APPE'AR, verb [Latin appareo, manifest.] - "to come or be in sight; to be in view; to be visible"...nature manifests itself unrestricted. All limits are being suggested by others and then self inflicted by consent.
Sleight of hand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olgn9sXNdl0
Dissapear please
Last question: if a mod manually approves a comment that calls another user "nigger" wouldn't that be contrary to the new rule?
No, calling someone names is not against the rules. It is however, against the ethos and should be frowned upon. The disclaimer clarifies the "rules" of what can be removed:
Now, if that user just goes around calling users that name over and over and over again, then that could be seen as stalking/trolling. In that case, they will receive a warning. If they continue to do it, then they will get a temp ban.
Like I said, this is my proposal and I'm still waiting to get feedback from Axo. I got feedback from Clems but I'm still waiting on Axo's thoughts. After that, we will decide if we want to go forward with this. At least, that is how I envisioned this. Not trying to pull some authoritarian shit here, or something.
Hope that clarifies it.
Attack the argument, not the person? Good luck with that, but I appreciate the thought.
I like the changes. We can clean up the Skil threats and not replies :)
Clean out the feds
I'm not here to ban/censor things I disagree with. I'm only adding structure for the community to deal with bad actors who are only here to harm the community/forum.
Pedo
Sounds like a good idea to me. Jokes are fun when it's small and all. Now gotta BTFO the PRedditors.
