The Guy that created the vibrational frequency to which you are able to tune into, wants you to know things, so He inspired human men (whom He created) to write words He wanted to share. Sure translations get skewed but the God, that wrote the words He instructed men to scribe, is big enough to handle that problem and any honest heart truly searching for God will indeed find Him. Not a fairy tale.
An aside, if God didn't tell you who He was, how would you know Him? How could you know Him apart from anyone else pretending to be Him? The only way I know God's nature is that He sees fit to teach me and He teaches me through His word, which is Himself.
