Are you speaking about the firmament as a dome/tent above the earth? This is what I believe about it:
The firmament (expanse, heavens, sky) is unmeasurable, strong, and hard as a cast metal mirror and has been spread (or beaten) out like a metal tent (or tabernacle) over the earth. The sun, moon and stars are situated in this tent. The firmament has doors that can be opened or shut. God looks down at all mankind from above the firmament from His throne with an emerald-coloured rainbow emanating from the throne. When Christ returns, the heavens (firmament) will roll up like a scroll, and every eye will see Him. There are three levels of heaven: presumably, the sky, the watery section above the firmament, and the section above where God’s throne is situated. One day the heavens and the earth will be destroyed, and God will create a new heaven and a new earth (Genesis 1:6-9, 14; 20, Isaiah 34:4; 40:22; 42:5; 44:24; Job 37:18; 38:10; Psalms 19:1, 4; 148:4; 33:13-14; Ezekiel 1:22-23, 25-26; Revelation 1:7; 4:1-3, 6; 6:14; 12:5; Amos 9:5; Proverbs 8:27; 2 Corinthians 12:2-4; 2 Peter 3:7, 10-13; Matthew 24:30).

The "technical method" for being certain you will not get the mark is to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Thankfully, we can be certain Jesus has not returned. There will be no mistaking it when He does. We can be certain that whoever wrote that in the Geneva Bible was a false prophet and/or teacher.

I think you’re overstating the ‘mainstream’ position. A quick look at how non‑Roman Catholics interpret Revelation 12:1-6 shows that the woman is overwhelmingly understood broadly as God’s covenant people, not Mary.

God specifically commanded Moses to make cherubim in His tabernacle as a copy of the way it is in heaven (Exodus 25:18-22; Hebrews 8:5; Ezekiel 10; 11; Psalm 99:1; Isaiah 37:16). Similarly to the Tabernacle, David told Solomon he had received plans for the temple from God “by the Spirit” (1 Chronicles 28:12) and “in writing from the LORD’s hand” (1 Chronicles 28:19). As a result, Solomon also carved cherubim in the walls of the first temple and made two cherubim in the Most Holy Place (2 Chronicles 3:7, 10-14). Similarly, God specifically commanded Moses to make a bronze serpent (Numbers 21:8), but this was later destroyed after the people were idolising it (2 Kings 18:4). These objects and images were never intended to be “venerated”, or worshipped; they were made solely in obedience to God’s command for His specific purposes.
Meanwhile, today’s “icons” (or images) and idols are often prayed to, kissed, have incense burnt to them, and are adored. Furthermore, God’s second commandment explicitly forbids making images and idols for the purpose of bowing down to or serving them (Exodus 20:4-5). The Bible forbids making images and idols for worship, as substitutes for God, or as objects of devotion, and the serving of such images, all of which is idolatry. The cherubim in the tabernacle and temple, and even the bronze serpent, were made by God’s command for specific purposes, not as objects or images of worship. When people later gave a name and burned incense to the bronze serpent, it became idolatrous, and righteous King Hezekiah destroyed it (2 Kings 18:4). This shows that even something God commanded to be made can become an idol if people misuse it.
As for artistic depictions of Jesus, Scripture nowhere commands, commends, or even shows the slightest example of creating images of God or Christ for “veneration”. Furthermore, how can we verify the accuracy of these depictions of His supposed earthly form, and therefore, how can such images avoid violating the command to worship God in spirit and truth (refer to John 4:23-24)?
Therefore, the cherubim and the bronze serpent were obediently made according to God’s command for His purposes, not as objects or images of worship to be bowed down to, prayed to, and served. But making and worshipping images and idols, as is common practice today, is fundamentally different and violates God’s command against idolatry.
The second commandment is two-fold: (1) “You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: (2) you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, ...”

The woman spoken of in Revelation 12:1-6 may be symbolic for Israel, with the twelve stars being symbolic for the twelve tribes of Israel. Alternatively (less likely I think), the woman may be the Church, with the twelve stars being symbolic for the twelve apostles.
Now, who is the great prostitute spoken of in Revelation 17? None other than the Roman Catholic Church!

Yes, religious texts can be used to deceive. A clear example is how many different religions there are, most of which claim to be the exclusive truth. However, there are ways to verify if one is true.

With regard to evidence of there being a Creator, the evidence is all around you. The invisible attributes of God, namely, His everlasting power and divinity, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. You will have no excuse on the day of judgement (refer Romans 1:18-23). The heavens declare the glory of God. The firmament shows his handiwork. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world (refer Psalm 19:1-6).

Yes, it is important to have unity. The problem I've seen where I live is that sin is running rampant in the churches. It is not possible to be in unity with those who are in enmity with God. I believe we are living in these days:
Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction. (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts, and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
The Ten Commandments (also referred to in Scripture as the Perfect Law of Liberty or Freedom—James 1:25; 2:12) were known and obeyed by God’s faithful people, presumably even before the Law was given at Sinai (refer Genesis 26:5). They were written on tablets of stone by the finger of God on Mount Sinai and are eternal. They continue into the New Covenant and they constitute the basic moral code for humanity (as further explained by Jesus) and are obeyed to demonstrate the believer’s love for God and his fellow man.
The Law of Moses is described as a yoke of slavery and has been “nailed to the stake”, fulfilled in and cancelled by Christ’s sacrifice. In the New Covenant, Christians are commanded to no longer keep this Law.
During the time of the Israelites, the two stone tablets containing the Ten Commandments were kept inside the Ark of the Covenant, under the mercy seat. In contrast, the Law of Moses was written on parchment (paper) and stored outside the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Lord’s Covenant now rests in His temple in heaven (Revelation 11:19).
Jesus affirmed the enduring nature of God’s Law, declaring that He did not come to abolish it but to fulfil it, and that not even the smallest part of the Law will pass away until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:17-48). Sadly, many who identify as Christians today do not keep the Ten Commandments, especially the second commandment, which forbids idolatry, and the fourth commandment, to remember the seventh day Sabbath, and often teach others to disregard them as well. This is despite Jesus’ warning that those who break even the least of God’s commandments and teach others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:19).
