A lot of the oxygen deprivation from mask wear is from rebreathing trapped air inside the mask, and is well-documented. The porosity is almost irrelevant with virus transmission because the payload will always be carried in spittle or aerosolized snot.
Instead of masks, clear safety glasses and keeping your mouth shut would have prevented more covid cases.
