Have you ever been to China? (Honest question).

I was there in 2018 and I was blown away; people think it's 3rd world, and in some ways it still is (mostly because things like water and sewer have not kept up with the insane level of progress in other areas), but I would consider China to be no less "developed" than other first world countries from a technology stand-point.

Where I live at least, everything (and I mean everything) is made there. Here we couldn't make a toy gun to save ourselves. And we are developed?

The new original sin.

You either regurgitate the scripture in an attempt to not be noticed (that will never work).

OR, you find your own way.

Meanwhile in my own company, I have stocks and options, meaning they want to keep me (I presume), but they've hired someone whose mission at the company (according to what they say and do every day) is to replace me, due to my skin color and sex. Unlike a leftist, I cannot accept both situations together as they are incongruent. I'm slowly planning my exit.

I did not read the article, so am not commenting on that, but with respect to the idea that vaccinating into a pandemic was a silly idea, I concur. Evolutionary biology 101 says that if you create artificial selection pressure, you get artificial selection.

I'm sure the guys here think real-estate photos where houses look bigger than they are proves that houses don't exist.

This stuff cracks me up. You're on to something man.... or maybe you should understand a little bit about how cameras work first.

Wow. You didn't even TRY to answer any of my questions.

If you want to know why, I used to moderate a group that was for atheist vs religious discussion. I have heard it all before. I still haven't heard an argument that makes sense. You talk about my beliefs needing faith. No, they don't need anything because it's a lack of belief in someone else's story. That is all.

I also accept that it's not possible to know some things; I just choose not to insert a deity to try to explain it. I'm perfectly comfortable not knowing.

I no longer moderate that group and I did learn one thing from it and that was I do have a respect for religion and appreciate the value it can bring people. I just don't buy into the story that goes with it. I'd probably be religious myself if I didn't have to pretend I believed absurd things just to be in the club.

Everything you just said is based on faith

What's that thing I keep hearing religious people say about the existence of their deity? I believe it's something about having faith is it not? You're not in a glass house perchance?

You can see the shoreline of islands that are 30 miles out to sea

I can see across a waterway that is probably 50 miles, but I am certain that I can't see the shoreline; only the tops of mountains on the other side. When looking the other way (from the other side) I can't see shit, because the land that side is only 6m above sea level. I do this experiment often because I have a house either side.

I did see someone try to show how even that should be impossible. The thing is, on face value, the trigonometry looks plausible, but it isn't. I explained what was wrong with it, but never got a response. There's closed minds on all sides of every argument let me assure you!

I'll take some time to check our your links next week (I have a full on weekend this weekend with work).

I love the engagement, but rather than me prove the earth is round, how about you share the really easy disproof and I can review that?

Get woke, go broke.

This is what happens when only one goal registers on the radar, to the detriment of all other concerns. Now, where have I seen that before?

This is also from 2020, so it agrees with your comment. I'm just not sure why it's being posted here as if its new.
