I found it interesting how fast they work. My local city sub had a picture somebody posted of a homemade banner hanging on a freeway overpass that simply said "SAVE THE CHILDREN" and it reached the front page. It's a massive city with a pretty small userbase but it was useful in certain situations to get live info so I kept up with it. Few hundred upvotes got that very simple easy to support message to the top of the sub.
