Well, I was generalizing the verses referring to a 1/3 of trees/grass/water/moon/so on. And with the right hand and forehead issue, I interpret that as literal but the mark may not need to be necessarily physical perhaps? The mark could very well be an idea or concept? A hand signal/gesture done with the right hand to represent the mark, or an idea or thought in one's mind (forehead) perhaps?
The Book of Revelation is a favorite of mine. Though, I recommend analyzing the other versus therein before worrying solely on the mark of the beast. Before the mark, there are the 7 seals (Rev. Chapter 5). The first 4, when opened, release the 4 horsemen - With all 7 seven finally opened, a 1/3 of of world is essentially destroyed (Rev. Chapter 8). Rev. 13:16 is the mark being described in the right hand; or in the forehead. There is so much more throughout the Book of Revelation of course, but if you are worried about the inevitable (Rev 22:19), just keep the faith.
