He's trying to convince someone and not have them dismiss off the bat for being a Trump supporter or an anti-vaxxer. Understanding the audience and their strawmen isn't the same as being brainwashed and believing them. It's actually good communication.

They actually booed him at a speech recently when he pushed vaccines. So the Trump supporters don't seem to be brainwashed or addicted to Trump worship.

The church I am part of did play along for five weeks or so. Then opened back before the state recommended. They were ashamed they played along and will not do it again.
