Yes Germany is following a similar path. The difference with Germany is they had a much larger industrial base to start with. German industry was basically powered by cheap Russian gas that came via nord stream. Now they have to import basically liquefied natural gas which is considerably more expensive. Coupled with some net zero green energy bullshit, German industry could easily follow a similar fate.
