My theory is that the US is the whore of babylon. I'm not running, per se, just preparing for the possibilty that the grid goes down and mass chaos ensues. I can't prep for everything and will be relying on the Lord's provisons as I sleep in a tree, someday.
They'll reactivate the grid and allow those that pledge allegience to re-enter society, if my hunch is correct.
