Ten years ago Microsoft was the leader in data centers worldwide and they only had about 120 of them. More than any other major competitor (including IBM, Oracle, Amazon, Google and Apple).
Now, another 3,000 AI data centers are planned globally for completion by 2030. In less than 4 years. It doesn't make sense, especially considering most corporations that got the approval to move to the Cloud have already done so.

Then why the need for additional data centers when additional computing data power could be managed by exiting ones?
