Not if you're in the US. We had low (high quality) wheat harvest last year but dumped the crappy product on Mexico. The rest of the world pays the price before us, we just pay more for the quality product because we can. There's a bit of truth to both ends of this spectrum and I'll agree we are sheltered from the impact. We produce much more than we consume.

My little brother (about 20 years younger) temporarily moved in with me a few weeks ago and was ranting about the degenerates that lived around him at his old apartment in Denver. He does not have a TV, nor do I. I had to explain the brainwashing that takes place. I introduced him to a few neighbors and the lack of television ownership came up. He was very surprised that my neighbors don't watch it either. We are on a very nice, quiet block where we all treat each other with respect. It's no coincidence a lack of television makes for a wonderful neighborhood
