KekW, I didn’t say I’m a taoist, but there’s nothing more annoying than people speaking authoritatively on shit they don’t have the first iota of knowledge on

▲ 1 ▼
Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thus in Christianity today, you have the same issue as Taoism.

So you think it’s a problem in taoism because there “isn’t a canon” (there is, for the 5th time, it’s called “the Tao te Ching”. Full stop.)

And you also think it’s a problem in Christianity, even with their (various) canon(s).

So what the fuck is your point even? You frankly don’t have one which is why I might seem annoyed by your comments lmao

Maybe you don’t know, but the DSS contain the book of Enoch, which is only included in the Ethiopian Orthodox Canon.

I guess they were right and everyone else was wrong huh? That’s how canons work right? Lmfao

Oy vey, I guess Dan Brown novels tell the UNFILTERED TRUTH about Christianity huh?!?

You’re the one advancing the retarded fucking notion, not the people selling books on Amazon lol

▲ 1 ▼
Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because Taoism doesn't, any later commentary can have as almost much authoritative weight as the original.

Wrong.

Taoism = Tao Te Ching

A single book.

If I said “taoism is about monkeys with unicorn horns”, that doesn’t mean anything and only a fucking retard would say “well I guess the lack of a canon and official body makes THAT TRUE”

Hey man, I’ve likewise enjoyed much of what I’ve seen you post, if my comments have come accros as rude, it’s only because, idk, it “hurts” to see someone who can otherwise come to rational and interesting conclusions coming to such a faulty one in this case.

I know exactly what you’re talking about in terms of the rank selfishness we can observe in some aspects of modern chinese culture, but I think it actually comes from a source which is in opposition to taoism, namely confucianism (made worse by the depravation endured under communism). Here are a few paragraphs which I think should help explain what I mean:

Generally speaking, whereas Daoism embraces nature and what is natural and spontaneous in human experience, even to the point of dismissing much of China’s advanced culture, learning, and morality, Confucianism regards human social institutions—including the family, the school, the community, and the state—as essential to human flourishing and moral excellence, because they are the only realm in which those achievements, as Confucius conceived them, are possible.

https://www.britannica.com/story/what-is-the-difference-between-daoism-and-confucianism

Mozi tried to replace what he considered to be the long-entrenched Chinese ideal of strong attachments to family and clan structures with the concept of "impartial caring" or "universal love" (兼愛, jiān ài). He argued directly against Confucians, who had philosophized that it was natural and correct for people to care about different people in different degrees. Mozi, in contrast, argued that people in principle should care for all people equally, a notion that philosophers in other schools found absurd, as they interpreted this notion as implying no special amount of care or duty towards one's parents and family.

Honestly, I see where you’re coming from, I just think you’ve set your targets on the wrong thing.

Please, give the tao te ching a glance when you’ve got a minute. I guarantee, the last thing you’ll find is justification for selfishness:

Taoism, as an experiential philosophy, actively rejects the unquestioned validity of any “commentary” or later work. Thus, unlike with papal edicts, the “official story” can’t change, because there is no official story. That’s the point.

Besides, to which Unassailable Christian Canon do you refer? The Catholic (including the diadeche)? The Mormon? The Ethiopian?

The Ethiopians got it right, according to the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I know Robert Sepehr, on youtube, talks a lot about this (Rh- factor, genetic lineage, nephilim, lost tribes, etc):

But I’ve never seen anything about “project Oaktree” before, sorry

Well his 14th amendment (and 100+ years of shifting precedent) put to bed any relevance of the 1790 naturalization act, didn’t it?

Lincoln was a demon? The guy who fought the European bankers by instituting the greenback was a demon?

Your worldview is schitzophrenic and unanchored to reality. But of course you know that already, which is why you use hundreds of sockpuppet alts to astroturf your degeneracy.

The Dao gives birth to unity,

Unity gives birth to duality,

Duality gives birth to trinity,

Trinity gives birth to the myriad of things.

The myriad things bear shadows and embrace radiance,

Are infused with the breath of life to achieve the harmonized trinity of darkness, light and soul.

(People hate to be uninvolved, irrelevant and undeserving, Yet true leaders associate themselves with these characters.)

Therefore, things may be gained by losing, May be lost by gaining.

What others profess, I will also proclaim: “Forced principles will not be viable”, Let this be the heart and soul of the message.

Verse 42 (does this cover Life, the Universe, and Everything?)

So nothing from the tao te ching? Oy vey

“Taoist sexual books” = nothing to do with taoism, unless you think that Dan Brown novels about Jesus’ offspring are “christian sexual books”

a 4th-century Taoist alchemist

You’re referencing shit written literally over 1,000 years after the founding of taoism. That’s retarded.

That’s like saying tranny Baptist pastors in 2023 invalidates the New Testament.

This is retarded dude.

Link a verse of the tao te ching (the book of taoism) which comes even close to what you just said

Can you expand on your reference to dumuzid when you get a chance? I can see he was a Sumerian god and the overview on his wiki page, but the connection here isn’t totally obvious to me.

And that sounds quite interesting re: your flash of insight, I look forward to seeing those fruits as they appear

And depending on how generous you are with benefit of the doubt, you can (sometimes justifiably, sometimes not) “read into” these descriptions, for example:

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam [anesthesia?], and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof [clear surgical imagery - bone marrow is one of the only sources of stem cells in adults];

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Similarly one can note that “dust” does in fact contain all the chemical ingredients required to to produce DNA.

The Nephilim and related stories likewise reek of genetic engineering (why else would Noah’s “generational purity” be so important, if not to wipe out a genetic “impurity”)

Etc

Pharma doesn’t like them, absolutely, but I think if you look back into history, you’ll find the ruling class also hates things which make people question their place in life/the societal structures around them.

Booze has always been fine because it’s more “soma” than “psyche”

There’s evidence man was on the Americas as early as 130,000 years ago:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/26/science/prehistoric-humans-north-america-california-nature-study.html

The notion of “Clovis First”, that 14,000 years ago one group crossed the Bering Land-Bridge then populated all of the americas, is just laughable. What’s sick is that for all intents and purposes it’s still the default world view.

Hmm... ok fair enough, I do disagree however.

Have you seen much of what I’ve posted on “giants” before? Namely:

I don’t necessarily expect you to be convinced of anything, but I’ve certainly seen enough I can’t rule out the possibility (I even lean towards it to be honest)
