Reversible death is a fundamental belief in various religions including Judaism and Christianity and I'm assuming Islam where all the currently dead are "resting" to be resurrect and judged when that day comes (don't kill zombies Isaiah 26 says to just lock down for the day). So for one to believe in an irreversible death they would have to be ignorant, atheist or of one of the "other" religions that encourage deviant behavior with the false promise that there are no repercussions outside of man's law.
