They think they control the rhetoric, that they can label anyone who disagrees with them as an "-ism" when in reality the stupid things they freely choose to say make it obvious they're the enemies.

Bonds SHOULD go up as the market goes down..

I think you mean interest rates. There's only correlate with the matter because people see it as a safe haven. But in s rising rate environment that coincides with a crash they're not safe either. You might be right about the pensions

  1. China cannot take on Japan. Not only are they a virtual nuclear power but they have a blue water navy. They wouldn't make it across the sea. Not to mention the entrenched island warfare. Japan would just blockade imports and exports and they'd collapse under civil unrest

From a secular perspective: Self development requires developing a perspective of the meta self: the self contextual by social roles and by circumstance. This allows us to develop a sense of others. Achieving our maximum potential can only come from transcending the self. Those who envy the selfish are not aware of this opportunity.

From a spiritual perspective, the self is the ultimate idol. This causes idolatry which separates us from God and prevents us from experiencing life to the fullest. It also causes sin which carries consequences.
