Everyone please welcome MLJFireDragon747 and sod_off_shotgun as the two new moderators to c/Funny. With their help, we hopefully can keep this community clean of pedo spam and nazi propaganda so we can all get back to the jokes we love
Hi, we are in a holding pattern as of now, there are policies in place to protect this community from mismanagement, which is great!
C will get word to us when we're green for go.
I think the best way would be to make a list of active non troll users (i think we can get some major agreement on who isn't trolling) and then have a vote.
We can do so by pinging all those accounts in a topic and have each vote in a comment to avoid vote manipulation of any kind.
I have no problem being left out, im quite marginal, i think there are about maybe 15-20 dudes in there who would have the right to vote.
You could do like this:
every user in the topic write a list of those he recognize as serious users of the board, then gives 1 to 3 names of that list as vote for moderation.
I would have no problem if u/thisisnotanexit got the mod power other ways though. The one thing important is we deport trolls back to the jungle.
You're placing trust in mods that ban based on political affiliation and usernames they don't like. This is all just for show. No one elected them, it's all been factored in.
Both have made it clear they will remove posts they themselves don't like, and invent new rules to restrict them in the future - regardless of what the population thinks.
As of right now, yes - less moderation is better because the users can decide via votes. But the political minority are upset they see opposing views, and cause a bunch of trouble and terrorize the posters to justify a police state, which is what kills content.
That's why they're crying for more mods. They want to censor posts they don't like. It's not going to be the trouble makers that get removed. It'll be largely my content.

I did the test for the blood marker for bone cancer today, got a call 4 hours later, so could go either way. The woman who drew the blood today butchered the vein in my arm and who could barely speak english fresh off the boat from somewhere. I already decided last week I dont think I have the energy or the will to waste taxpayer money anyway lmao. If im just gonna get treated like a slab of meat by uncaring assholes, ill pass. I honestly feel ready to take that next step and see what lays beyond.
