It's become almost unreadable... is this by design? Maybe? Probably?
Almost every title is clickbait. For the most part it's screenshots from some social media site that appear profound but is so vague as to be meaningless. A LOT of contrived content. Currently the top post with 5000 upvote is a post about old people being in positions of power, but in the workplace that's usually not the case because they are senile. This isn't even a conspiracy.
Furthermore it's almost all image posts, again with the aforementioned and no actual content. The submissions statement, allegedly to alleviate the stupidity, plays no role in the upvote/downvote system, because it's often buried deep in the comments (as it's not stickied to the top of the comments). Furthermore, there seem to be no standards for the submission statement.
Furthermore, it's become a sort of reddit refuge for any "edgy" politics, usually right-wing. This is fine if it actually relates to a conspiracy, but a lot of it is just politics, political commentary, or social commentary. Moderation seems nonexistant despite 13 users being listed under mods, most of which are quite active.
Reddit is garbage. Pure bot, shill, algorithm.
R/conspiracy was always a filter. It required 2 months on Reddit before posting. They already had your profile. Anybody generating an account with no history cannot post. Anybody posting only conspiracies faster got banned across Reddit for political views, or anti establishment comments/posts. The mods changed into shills filtering bias. They would ban you for disagreement of any topic they generated.
The rest of Reddit is far worse. The bots, and people posting are bias to all disagreement of every topic generated. The jannies it has operating its site are some of the dumbest on the planet. No experience outside of the topic. Uneducated in everything except liberalism, and it means they're right no matter what. But the bots they use break all their rules, they downright attack any account for generating disagreement, spamming down votes, while attacking your account for its creation, calling you Russian, or far right, simply for disagreeing. They attack English when they cannot string two words together grammatically, or in any other speech apart from insults, goading further attacks to cancel you. The entire site echoes in almost every topic generated. The comments written are autistic or out of context with reality apart from blind obedience to the topic. Anybody smart enough to divert a topic with clear questions, the topic is overrun with bots and shills promoting its narrative again, giving fake Reddit currency. Or it is removed, and often reposted with smaller variations correcting its print.
It's the Planet's shithole. There are only idiots on Reddit.
So dumb they have value.
Value to manipulate a narrative for who. Who are they actually convincing? They banned everybody else. It's the same rats on a sinking ship. Literally the same troll farms, preaching door to door for cookie points. Until all those doors are closing, nobody wants bashing over the head by those squatters. And that revenue is in pieces. It's no where near the volume it thought to sell. Sure it's still conning some advertising. But it is no where near its past peak percentages. Until faster nobody is buying its gimmicks. Why would they, it stinks of jannie diapers.
I'd call Reddit a festering dungheap but that would be an insult to dungheaps. Reddit is a place where truth goes to die. Reddit makes Arkham Asylum look sane by comparison.
This is so true. Jealous, insecure psychopaths that turn to psychopathy to make up for their inadequacies as human beings and need to draw everyone else down. They tell themselves they're doing something useful for society, they give themselves this self-importance. They feed off of keeping other people down, the accomplishment thereof giving them the feeling of worthiness. For 95% of what they do, they are worse than parasites.
Contrary: everything is turning out to be true, so there's just not much left to only be conspiracy.
A niche subject, hobby, or hangout is more focused. The more that it goes mainstream, the more diluted it becomes. Where once the group could discuss and explore their niche at length, and in deep compexity, it now devolves toward the lowest common denominator. A niche can gain wider appeal, but almost always at the cost of its focus, and abandoning the people that gave rise to the niche group in the first place. This can happen in real life or online. Dilution online is easier, quicker, and worse. If this happens to a niche on social media, it's why the lowest effort posts with the most shallow ideas, that can be quickly read, rise to the top. The posts which used to be the staple of conversation, the more lengthy and complex ones, get drowned out. This has been happening with all social media sites and forums. The greater number of people, the more diluted, braindead, and worthless it becomes to the people actually interested in the subject. It's why social media can be populated with intelligent people, but the highest upvoted posts are always dumber on average. Time is always a factor. Its easier to read short and shallow than long and complex. Social media caters to, and conditions people with short and shallow.
On top of this, Reddit has been censoring right leaning forums and users for a while now. R/conspiracy is one of the few places left they can voice their opinions, so it's turned into a catchall dumping ground for Reddit refugees that refuse to leave. However, r/conspiracy has also been shilled by leftists for a while now. It started slowly in 2016, and has gotten progressively worse since then. The last factor is that there are verboten subjects that even r/conspiracy can't mention without getting banned, and at least a few of the mods are probably in on it.
Combine all of these factors together and you get the current r/conspiracy forum. It's populated with right leaning people posting facebook tier memes and twitter screenshots (or by leftist shills forum sliding), catering to the lowest common denominator, and the comments are overrun with the lefty shills that actively argue against conspiracies and defend the mainstream narratives.
I've noticed this same trend occurring at The_Donald (patriots.win) since the 2020 election. Facebook tier memes and twitter screenshots are the norm now. Considering that forum used to be one of the best collections of relevant news, discussion, organization, and talk of verboten topics on the internet, it's sad how far its fallen. The irony is that the forum used to be bigger. It's dropped in quality while also losing users. I'm pretty sure it's because the staple userbase that made it great, were so pissed at the 2020 election that they wanted to do something about it, and the mods prevented them from talking about the solutions. So, the best people were either banned or pushed out, leaving mostly the normie tier right wingers that are woefully inadequate to discussing or solving current political issues.
The world has turned into garbage anyways.
"The Joker is a psychotic not some sage" eh? At this point, psychotics become equal to sages or even exceed them.
we all hope you are safe and secure anyway with hong kong being so much more garbage than where we are lmao
You won't find any argument here. I'm a fairly agreeable fella, but having to respond to practically every. single. post. with "source? link?" makes me come off as some kind of antagonistic detractor, when really I just find the headline or screenshot interesting, and would like to see it in its natural habitat with original comments.
Check out this one from a couple days ago where the headline turned out to be completely opposite of what the article was trying to convey!
Someone on r/conspiracy was asking about Graphene Oxide in the Jabs. Every mention of it on Google has been removed or replaced with "debunking" articles like Forbes. I posted 6 or so links I have saved because I knew this would happen. The mods removed my post. It is garbage.
What I've noticed about the upvoting (which I think is still primarily humans, while the heavy downvotes are bots and brigades) is that it just equates to people who agree with the sentiment. It's really nothing about the quality or importance or insight of the post, just "Yep, that's right!" or "I, too, hate that sumbitch!"
There is still some conspiracy, yes, but there is virtually no "theorizing" left. That is, a post will surface some conspiracy "dot" or other, but posts almost never surface multiple dots and connect them.
The same point could be made about this forum. Instead of, "Here's my theory and the evidence and analysis I used to come up with it," it's more like, "Here's my theory and also my opinion about it." It's not a good sign, assuming we'll need reasoning to fight off the Illuminati.
All that being said, I still use r/conspiracy as daily news feed to get content I can't really find elsewhere. Takes a lot of scrolling, though.
If you are interested in the subject and are still on reddit something is wrong with you.
The only real use I have for Reddit is there's a community on there for those who want to / are trying to / already have stopped drinking.
Alcohol has been a huge issue in my life and I'm trying to break away from it, so the stopdrinking sub is one I enjoy. We stick to the topic, don't get involved in other bullshit that has sunken reddit
But far as anything political (including conspiracy) ehhh I pretty much came here so I didn't have to go there haha
What's unfortuntae abotu reddit having these nice communities, is that if/when something deemed inappropriate enters into those communities, they have the control and power to censor those, thus removing that edge.
Reddit got to where it was because it had that edge to it. It's not fisher price internet, but it's also not 4chan. That seems to be going now
Yeah, I understand it's like going to a resort.... everything looks all nice and well but 2 ft outside the fence the locals are shitting on the floor
Luckily that isn't my only resource so if i don't feel like dealing with Reddit there's other communities in other apps that provide the same thing for me.
The shame is reddit really coulda been something amazing - essentially a huge daily newspaper with whatever stories interest YOU. But... when they remove everything except one flavor it's not much of a buffet.
I'm surprised how long reddit has held, and tbh it's a little bit unfortunate.
Digg failed and everyone moved to reddit, and I assumed reddit wouldn't last as long. It seems reddit is dying a slow miserable death, rather than a fell swoop like digg.
Think of it like Simpsons
It DID die a long time ago...but keeping the corpse dancing is too valuable to them, so the Weekend At Bernies act must go on. Just ignore the smell.
They're both just lifeless shells of what they used to be, propped up by the money of their owners.
Firstly, even if reddit was awesome, using it is making the enemy money and giving them free intelligence.
Second, /r/con has been too far gone for 5+ years.
This attitude is going to keep this sub down forever. I get where you're coming from, but on a certain level it's the only place, that's now turning into garbage.
Are you a jew fan?
It's not just the censorship of anything related to jews. It's the censorship of anything related to real and meaningful discussion, or one that hits the nail on the head.
I was there for beta-reddit, before IPO. Reddit experimented with crowd control through Konny2012. Became intagled with DNC private-sec soldiers in 2014 as we supported the Ultra-Nationalist Maidan Revolution. And now we are seeing reddit media investors use reddit to amplify emotional political ideas, while banning those that follow the money.
Now, when you link directly to non-supportive platforms through reddit, you may get suppressed in one form or another.
Might be true, but the way it's happening is very seditious. The "opposition" that's allowed is contrived. Stupid. It's not outright "your opinion is wrong", they will happily allow that. What's disallowed/discouraged/manipulated down to hell, is poignant "edgy" in depth and throught-provoking "Let them have their little conspiracies" type of posts.
If it is the DNC and CCP (I'm dubious on this... I think it's been largely ignored), they do know what they're doing.
Tbh this place is also taking a nose dive
Does it help you if it's in Non participation mode?
https://np.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/
Usually it's good for around 5 solid threads a day and 1 totally unique piece.
r/conspiracy is much much older than the timeline you are whining about so it feels safe to assume you are a newer shill and not an older shill lmao
Not necessarily. The main tactic of shills and globalists is to lie, to change the narrative, to make people believe things that aren't true. Changing timelines and misrepresenting facts is absolutely in line with an experienced shill.
now you are lmao
What conspiracies do you believe are true?
they are a firm believer of the conspiracy that involves people getting paid to post online hoping to control narratives and shift public opinion if you are picking up what i am laying down lmao
Pretty damn similar to the "totally organic" users of R/conspiracy that popped up after the 2016 election, that shit on every single conspiracy theory while posting in a conspiracy forum.
