The best way to test them is just search for Trump and see how biased the results

I'm using Qwant. I like the fact that it gives different results depending on the country selected.

Interestingly enough Yandex.com is pretty good. Probably not if you're in Russia though.

You have to use the search functions. You can always find really great information doing things like.

DuckDuckGo.com

-Enter into search

Site:reddit.com/r/conspiracy adrenochrome

Site:YouTube.com adrenochrome

You’ll typically get better results for searching exactly what you want.

One of the best search engines out there for finding conspiracy related content is, un-ironically: http://archive.4plebs.org/pol/ and http://archive.4plebs.org/x/

You just have to know where you’re trying to search for the information and the best place to find it.

I use swisscows . Not too bad, but not very good on medical searches.

I have found this too with swisscows. On covid stuff, it has a tight narrative. For something outside the narrative I have had the best luck with Yandex.

Everything but CuckCuck, Bing, Google your browser can use a half dozen engines

I've been using Qwant, but because of the events of this last year and a half, I am constantly of the mindset that anything can be compromised at any time, and therefore always looking for more alternative search engines.

Search engine results are now no different than targeted advertisements. It's disgusting.

No. Google has stifled everything. Go after them.

I have good luck with startpage.com

I wouldn't trust startpage anymore - they're private, sure but their results come from google, so you won't get honest results, you'll get google-censored results when it comes to anything of interest.

I'm sure it works the same on Chromium browsers, but if you have Firefox, you can have multiple search engines and select which one you want to use from either the url bar or the search bar.

This way, you can make the switch to an alt-tech search engine while still having access to other search engines. For example, I use Startpage.com [google results but with privacy] to search for images I can't find with ResultHunter.com.

I also use this feature for Amazon (prices/reviews), YouTube, Harbor Freight, and eBay. It helps reduce a bunch of page loading and clicks by doing a direct search from the url bar.

Problem is ... it's difficult to add default browsers with Vivaldi. There's a curated list for the default ... but you can use anyone you've added if you use the "{letter} {search term}" schema.

Can you add it as a default that you don't have to use a letter for?
