interesting thread: "We've had 100's of ships anchored off the Port of Long Beach for months now. PoLB has the capacity to process them. They just aren't. Who told them to do that, I wonder?" (twitter.com)

That company just hit my radar when I saw an article about them buying a US phone/internet company.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/cincinnati-bell-to-be-acquired-by-macquarie-infrastructure-in-all-cash-deal-valued-at-29-billion-2020-03-13

Control the infrastructure, control the people.

Oil crisis early 70s.

Tankers parked offshore.

Long lines for rationed gasoline.

Blame the arabs.

Gas prices zoomed up.

Same old game.

Figured the cure would be worse than the disease on day 1 back in January 2020.

But the scale of it.

Damm.

The.

Bastards.

Already happening in Europe. Both with fuel but also food supplies (critical things like dairy deliveries, were you can't wait a day). Right now it's blamed on several other things. But mostly blamed on lack of truck drivers (brexit kicked 25k truckers out of UK), new truck driver regulation that they have to go back home every 2 weeks makes it slim with drivers all over the place (a lot of truck drivers in EU are from eastern european countries - some even from asia/philipines). Some routes it's VERY difficult to get cargo shipped to/from. Others it's not an issue. But it's getting dire.

Have you seen the Deagel report? Massive grim news on UK and US population reduction by 2025.

I've worked in UK logistics since 2014. "Not enough drivers" has been a constant. The Dept. of Transport has done virtually nothing.

The Dept. of Education had a driver training programme but it only had 1,000 places.

If you have an Fork Lift Truck license you can get £40k in most areas of England & Wales.

Farmers in the UK have run out of Carbon Credit vouchers. They cannot send animals to slaughter because to do so requires a carbon credit and buying them is more than the value of the animals. So they are paying to feed animals they can't sell, while the shelves are empty.

They should make them take 269 certifications and at least 141 licenses ... that will make everything better. don't even get me started with the trucks .

DeBeers diamond monopoly. Rumors of warehouses full of diamonds to restrict the supply. Diamonds reported to be quite common and worth a lot less than thought.

I overheard some guy who works at the port saying that they aren't getting anything new processed for a while. What they've been processing is all backed for months. Once they're done with that, there is nothing else. Not even from China. He was trying to get a graphics card before they stopped moving.

Would make it easy to hide an invasion force with this backup.

That too. It really seems like the backed up ships could be a massive national security issue.

With all due respect, Americans: WHY THE PHACK are you allowing foreign countries to buy property in your own nation.

As an American, that's what I'd like to fucking know?

And also why jobs were offshored?

And also why manufacturing was offshored?

Sure, they said it was to save money, that was only for them. Not for the consumers, not for the workers. Fucking unloyal corporate shitbeans.

The American businessman doesn't really care about his country or his community. Some chinks show up at offer him money for his port and he'll begin salivating at the opportunity.

Hillary pushed the sell, as sec of state. Trump forced a buyback,as president. China retained control of a certain area, for thirty years as part of the deal

It started before you were born.

Kissinger and Nixon worked for Rockefeller. Bush and clinton work together. Hillary was on walmart board in late 80s.

Good on trump for the buyback.
