Already happening in Europe. Both with fuel but also food supplies (critical things like dairy deliveries, were you can't wait a day).
Right now it's blamed on several other things. But mostly blamed on lack of truck drivers (brexit kicked 25k truckers out of UK), new truck driver regulation that they have to go back home every 2 weeks makes it slim with drivers all over the place (a lot of truck drivers in EU are from eastern european countries - some even from asia/philipines). Some routes it's VERY difficult to get cargo shipped to/from. Others it's not an issue.
But it's getting dire.
I've worked in UK logistics since 2014. "Not enough drivers" has been a constant. The Dept. of Transport has done virtually nothing.
The Dept. of Education had a driver training programme but it only had 1,000 places.
If you have an Fork Lift Truck license you can get £40k in most areas of England & Wales.
Farmers in the UK have run out of Carbon Credit vouchers. They cannot send animals to slaughter because to do so requires a carbon credit and buying them is more than the value of the animals. So they are paying to feed animals they can't sell, while the shelves are empty.
The Dept. of Education had a driver training programme but it only had 1,000 places.
They should make them take 269 certifications and at least 141 licenses ... that will make everything better.
don't even get me started with the trucks .

Have you seen the Deagel report? Massive grim news on UK and US population reduction by 2025.
