I have a friend from El Salvador and he’s very educated and one of the best examples of a gentleman i’ve ever met. His Grandfather ran for mayor (circa 1980) of his rather large city like 400-500k. He was going out and shaking hands and getting votes. He was already popular in the city because of his associations with charities, schools, and civic/volunteer groups. After the first mayoral debate, where he outlined his anti-bribe anti-corruption platform for his time in office, he received a manilla envelope in the mail. It had 20-30 black and white 8x10 pictures of his children (wasn’t a granpa yet and the kids were young) waiting for the school bus, walking into church, and playing outside in his yard among other places. The last picture had his whole family in it but all of the faces were X’d out. The kids were numbered 1-3 and his wife was #4. The 5 by his name probably meant he’d have to watch them all die first. There were no words in the package at all, no return address, but he got the message. He announced his decision to drop out of the race the next day.
Elite Groups/gangs try to bribe you. If you don’t take the bribe, the next step is pretty obvious.
We can say people are compromised, call them sellouts, whatever, but the “offer you can’t refuse” is very powerful. Especially if it involves the death of your own flesh and blood.
On the other hand, the “compromising materials” (Kompromat) approach to corrupting someone might be the most effective. It’s probably more cost and risk effective for them. Pedophiles groom children. Certain factions of the “illuminati” groom pedophiles. For the GOP, it could just be an adulterous relationship with an adult gay lover that would cause them to lose most of the religious vote. For the DNC, it could be a recording of a racist rant. These sort of compromised people are the types I have zero empathy for.
Because everybody’s willing to die for their beliefs until the pistol is at their head.

A group of masked gunmen storm a church in a small village in _______. They tell everybody “If you believe in Jesus Christ, get on the pulpit with the Reverend/Priest right now. We’re gonna fucking kill you, and you can go to your heaven today! If you don’t believe in Jesus Christ, get out now!” Most people storm out of there but a dozen or so are standing on stage crying, ready to meet their Maker. The Leader of the gunman waits for everyone who’s leaving to leave. He says, “I’m just weeding out the hypocrites for you, brother, i’m a christian too. These are the people in your congregation you can trust fully. Those here standing with you.” And then the gunman all leave.
