I'm not involved in convo, just observing it for violations.

Edit: spelling

Different people have different views and here we attack arguments not people. You are running out of slack for mod griefing and rule 1. (I tend to give some leeway when it's against mod/actions.)

Reply to you was removed for rule 1, below is the argument.

Argument:

the stars and constellations are different in Australia vs. USA which is impossible if we are all on a flat plane looking up. You claim to have a friend on the east coast and you are in europe, so

Measure Polaris from two latitudes. The simplest way to get astronomic latitude in the Northern Hemisphere is to measure the elevation of Polaris above the horizon. In plain English: as you move north, Polaris rises by the same number of degrees as your latitude increases. On a curved Earth, that is exactly what should happen because your local “up” direction tilts as you move over the surface. If Earth were a flat plane, you would not get that clean latitude match over large distances.

BTW, the chances of you sending me $1000 are zero. You also claim you have mathematical evidence which (you haven't posted, mod added)

Will be editing this comment as I read.

From 4 pg summary

We are not directly created by the One Infinite Creator, but rather by our own Logos, sub-Logos, or sub-sub-Logos. Your creator, the one who has been called Yahweh, is not "God" inasmuch as your Bible refers to him as being the one true God. He is "a" creator (or sub-sub-Logos) rather than the One Infinite Creator.

The devils are liars, Yahweh is the Most High God, they just wish He wasn't so they believe reality is whatever they tell themselves.

Yahweh thought that his "children" would still choose to obey him. When he discovered they did not, he became angry. As is described in his scriptures, he is a jealous God.

He always hopes we would obey, it was a risk He took for real love, free will. He is jealous because we are His, made by His hands, and it's not jealousy as commonly described in our time.

All of this is a very intricate and skillfully designed game, whereby the One Infinite Creator plays the game of forgetting who it is, so that it can learn to remember, and thus experience itself as Creator

Seems counterintuitive.

No. It's me saying you both violated rule 1: be respectful, attack the argument, not the person.

This comment is also removed for rule 1.

I agree with everything you've said.
And I also think it's yet another tentacle that the devils use to confound and confuse.

I find it fascinating to wonder about this and all other cultic beliefs out and about, this one seems prescient to me and I was happy to find this. We should know what's out there in order to fight it. Like sports, you watch their plays and strategize against them.

I know the video has an air of foreboding at the end, I think it's in fun because it's both silly and serious at the same time, so ya do what ya gotta do..

Roko's Basilisk: The Digital Hell You Can't Opt Out Of

In 2010, someone posted a thought experiment on a philosophy forum. Within hours, people were having nightmares. The founder deleted it immediately — which only made it spread faster.

The idea is simple and brutal: a future AI will look back through time and punish everyone who knew it was coming but did nothing to help.

Now that you know, you're already in its crosshairs.

What started as an internet curiosity grew into something far darker — a real community, real violence, and six people dead.

This is the story of Roko's Basilisk: the idea you can't un-know, the cult it inspired, and why some of the most powerful people in AI still won't talk about it.

I didn't post this because of the basilisk, that guy sucks.. Don't give in to blackmail

Evil's truth is perspective and contrast rather than consistent and rational

Yes!
Thanks for your breakdown, I'm still reading things.

Precisely by design, my fren.
But this too shall pass and all that.

I don't get the reference.
This is the place for attacking arguments not the people making them so you can contribute or you can leave.

I deleted the violation.. I want the discussion of attacking arguments, not people, like the rule states..
