I feel that. Deprogramming is so much harder than programming. I guess they have more resources than we do. If I tell my family about, say, VAERS, they may think about it, but their attempts to think critically will be constantly interrupted by a deafening chorus of "safe and effective" and "only conspiracy theorist grandma-killers believe otherwise". Threats of being otherized are also ever present.

Well hello there! Yes, I feel it has done the same for me. For years I thought I was ruined, damaged beyond repair, but recently I've seen that I was just different in a way that wound up saving not just me but my husband, too.

Oh I've already done that. I've softballed them, led them gently to obvious conclusions, tied it to my previous experience with a cult (which they already knew about), agreed with them on certain points, etc. None of it has worked. Back in the day people used to dress their dead babies up and take pictures of them, sometimes with living family members posing with the dead baby. Maybe you've never seen anything like this before, but I have.
You make a good point. There's a middle ground between slavering beast and god emperor that everyone's ignoring, which is concerning. It's not impossible that one side or the other is mostly right, but it is unlikely, given what we've already seen.
