the only "evidence" being the picture of a pizza and the price

What evidence do you have they are pedo images, apart from pizza and the price?

I don't think scarcity is a good metric.

we both enjoyed the rap battle, that was worth something

I've got over 1,000 Midjourney generated posts on Instagram and interact with other people doing the same and we find worth in our hobby, a few of them have even had gallery exhibitions.

anyway, stil not an existential threat to humanity!

but to continue the serious bit, another one they try is "politicians will be more effective liars" - well, we're here, we know both how successful they are at that.

"Deep fakes, politicians saying stuff, it's a post truth world" - again, we're here - when exactly was the "truth world"? and it's only been 50 years that we saw politicians saying anything, it was all newspaper text before then.

So it creates a higher threshold for proving what may or may not be true - surely that's a good thing.

"Celebrity endorsements are less trustworthy" - laughs

"deep fake porn of people without their consent" - this is the one I suspect would be distressing for the subjects and their loved ones

"deep fake violence / rape etc." - I just thought of this one, and no-one has mentioned it that I've seen - that could be super distressing.

me n the boys also do generated rap battles on silly topics, last week it was Daleks coming to Compton.

like this one

(Verse 1 - GynaNumbaZero)
Yo, it's GynaNumbaZero, I'm the main hero,
In this rap game, I'm the one who throws the first arrow.
I see the signs, the lines, in Hollywood's design,
Predictive programming, it's like they're controlling your mind.

They got you thinking it's fiction, just a storyline,
But I see the truth, it's hidden in every sign.
From the movies to the shows, it's a grand illusion,
They're feeding you lies, creating confusion.

(Chorus)
GynaNumbaZero, I'm the truth revealer,
In this rap battle, I'm the top dealer.
Hollywood's game, it's a crazy scheme,
But I see through it all, like a laser beam.

(Verse 2 - Hollywood)
Hollywood here, the master of the reel,
Our stories captivate, they make you feel.
GynaNumbaZero thinks he's got us figured out,
But we're just storytellers, that's what we're about.

We create worlds, characters, and plots,
Not some grand conspiracy, tying knots.
So keep watching, enjoying, getting lost in the scene,
While we keep doing our thing, making the screen.

(Chorus)
Hollywood, we're the dream weavers,
In this rap battle, we're the true believers.
GynaNumbaZero, keep looking for your theme,
While we keep creating, the Hollywood dream.

(Outro)
So here's the end, of this rap battle rhyme,
GynaNumbaZero, Hollywood, it's been a good time.
Predictive programming or just a good tale,
In the end, it's the music, that will prevail.

I use Perplexity.ai all day at work, along with Cursor AI IDE, it is a skill multiplier and I am very glad they exist and I do pay for it (or rather, I got work to pay for it).

I also built an in-house AI driven translation system for translating to French, German, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic. By bringing that in-house we saved 40% on the fees we were paying Microsoft for Azure translation.

being confident enough to hand over command and control to one with equivocal instructions like "maintain a constant temperature of 80F" and it boils eveyone by confusing it with Celcius instead of a constrained system with specificity.

but I agree, when I encounter someone online who tellsme it is "dangeerous" I oftenask them "what is the threat model? and be specific, not 'racial bias' but actual measurable harms" - I've yet to have an answer

cable tv, car hire, blockbuster

in the 70s people rented TVs, washing machines, fridges - it's just these things became cheap enough to buy

people rent furniture now, lease vehicles etc.

when you've been alive long enough, you see these trends come and go

Would you rather have it that in order to post that comment you would have had to buy a certain brand of computer?

Communication protocols have always been hardware neutral. Using BBSs on a dial up modem was not restricted to Amigas or whatever.

Imagine a world where "The Microsoft Network" became the dominant "online" space and you had to pay MS to access it.

Part of the phenomena you are describing is called commoditising your complement where you neutralise the USP of your indirect competition - cream producers want strawberries free so you afford more cream.

Software writers don't want software tied to a particular manufacturer, they want as many potential customers as possible.

never met a furry

knew a few gays & lesbians in the 80s. lesbian would dress quite manly

in the 90s knew a mtf who passed. was at in a group with people saying "did you know there's a mtf here?" and he was sat in the group

in the 2000s I was at theatre school with some gays, one of whom had worked as an escort and would go out in drag

in the 2010s worked in film/tv, quite a few gays, some who were in their 20s when it was illegal

out of all of them, I've never known a gay who liked Pride.

then I went to the US for a conference in 2019 and met the modern "man with a beard in a dress who makes people call him 'she' ", he's the only one I ever thought was a mental freak

you're claiming "50% efficient running off of a heat differential, it will be 200% efficient in creating that same heat differential."

now, even if it's 101% efficient you can carry out the experiment as i described

A retarded take that is just a hit tweet. Annie Altman tweeted about it in 2021, although didn't get noticed until March 2023.

And you don't call someone the last thing of a Friday at 30mins notice about it. That is not why he was fired.

And if that was the reason and you wanted him gone forever, you'd say it.

What this lacks is how many other such "they attack this weekend" signals were received over the years and never came to fruition.

you can almost always find a guy to satisfy "this guy predicted EVENT"
