It's not the bots, really, if under "bot" author assume some script or whatever. Bots does not have attention span and could easily keep this "upvote rate" at desired level, just due to their computer nature.

It is human beings who have an attention span, that cause decline of downvotes with time that author observe. So, it is an army of persons who constantly monitor posts and immidiately downvote whatever they don't like. Then, they lost attention to that post and switch to another target, so the upvote rate began to grow.

And every person who do that job have an exact name. And theil employer have an exact name too.

I think it is perfectly possible to create a specific honeytrap for such persons and their employer to uncover their identities and areal. Especially for the author who, as far as I understand, spend a tons of time studying that shithole named reddit.

Sounds like a first amendment auditor lol.

We don't have first amendment, but I think that grift will work even where any kind of first amendment law exist. It's not hard to think out something that formally will fall under free speech but will be unacceptable for authorities so they will find a way to prosecute perpetuator for something else. IDK, fine for protesting near fireplug, accuse of sedition or whatever. Then do that crowdfunding thing as a victim of totalitarians.

Here we have kind of very perverted type of freedom of speech. Government fully monopolize prosecution for unwanted speech. Formally, you could say anything you want, and in worst case you will be fined, or get suspended sentence and walk out of court free. (excluding cases with disclosing state secrets, sedition, etc. that fall under other laws) And at the same time state protect those who break the law in such way and heavily prosecute anybody who could violently react to some expression of free speech. Kind of weird, really.

I think freedom of speech should be unlimited, but any consequences should be on the speaker. If you wish to publicly declare, say that "all other people are dumbfucks and bastards" - it's completely up to you, you should be free of any charges, but those who could punch your face after your performance should not be prosecuted for that too. Direct responsibility for your words and all that stuff. Politicians, journalists and bureaucrats public speeches and performances included, of course. At least it will be different and fun. :)

It's gonna be like eating a McDonald's value meal while watching a woke Marvel movie, Infinity.

It will be more insane. It will be like CGI BigMac in CGI McDonald's watching Marvel movie where CGI hero eating that CGI BigMac in CGI McDonald's. There will be no any conscious subject in their utopia.

And something tells me if the World will split into two different orders, huge part of people will be glad to exist in that part where they don't have any subjectivity.

Seriously I think they will hugely fail with their utopia, but will do a lot of harm to humanity during attempt to implement it. And they will fail not because some resistance of whatever, but because they are too dumb to build something working.

And what are the odds of making your presence known using Nitter

Forget about Nitter. It just a centralized twitter scrapper.

other alternatives?

Absolutely same as odds of making your presence known using Twitter/Facebook/any_other_crap. No social media platform started with already existing millions of users. So the only difference is a will of user to suck a dick of some corporation, nothing more.

Also are you sure those are not honeypots funded by Trump or Bannon?

If you have such question, you don't even tried to find out how things really work. You absolutely don't need any funding to run any service with possibilities equal to those of all that social crap.

It's kind of Jewish business here. Do something that obviously unlawful in the way to enshure being caught and punished, then collect money as a victim. Rinse, repeat. When enough money collected, flee abroad to the West, easily get refugee status baked with "severe persecution by tyrannical authorities for practising freedom", and settle somwhere in warm place with gained profit.

This is not a new thing at all, it is perpetuated by the Jews since USSR times.

Funny, that they should be grateful for the Russian authorities for protecting them from citizens who could easily just fix their faces for their shit and this will effectively end their escapades and business.

Fascinating. It's just some festival of idiocy..

It was assumed, that ones who push different shitty narratives shouldn't believe in them. But that's not the case for a long time.

Kind of weird self-screwing tactics with completely unimaginable goal. "We are so cool and powerful, look how severe we will screw ourselves!".

And why anybody should care about those who willingly use this "social media" in the first place?

There is tons of alternatives around, but sheeple maniacally herding into that stupid centralized platforms fully controlled by appointed shepherds. And I never saw anything resembling any push on them about that choice. Nobody force them to choose fucking WhatsApp, Telegram or Twitter instead of Tox or Retroshare. It's their own choice. Why the fuck anybody have to care about that? If a person prefer stupid and senseless bells and whistles over personal freedom, this person does not deserve any freedom at all.

You don't know what type of technologies they've developed from the bob lazar's of the world.

I know what technologies they didn't developed.

Any technology does not exist in vacuum. Each and every technology is based on the numerious other technologies and inventions that should exist to make some technology real. If you don't see that underlying technologies and inventions, then supposed technology just could not exist.

And Bob Lazar is a scam. It is very obvious even if you have just a basic engineering skills.

The things we know about are there to give us an impression, not the truth. Its to obscure the truth.

If you believe in them - then yes, you are as far from truth as possible. If you know how things work, you don't even need that useless source of impression you try to rely on.

any real challenge to thier power would be met with many times force necessary to obliterate those people.

It is just a question of balance. I know many here hate communists, but it is very useful to know what their books speak about. Lenin told that challenge to the power could be succesfull only when the opressed can't endure anymore and the opressors can't handle their opression at the same time. Opressed wish is not enough. So, there are two necessary variables in that equation. People have to want challenge the power, and at the same time, f.e. don't give a single fuck to the power, to make it powerless. Shortly it compiled into definition of "revolutionary situation", i.e. condition when resistance could win - "Bottom do not want anymore, while top already can't".

Even if you succeed with waking up everybody, this will change absolutely nothing. It is just only one variable.

I see that mistake again and again. "Release Epshtein List!", "Declassify JFK files!", "Publish all UFO information", and so on. That is not how opressors could be defeated.

I think the only person who at least subconsciously understand Lenin equation is Assange. He told everybody - "don't give a fuck to the government and its laws, if you have some interesting info, share it, make it public around the fucking laws and procedures". It was way closer to the real way, than everything I see currently. For some reason, his idea was way ahead of time.

Population is just not ready for awakening. Even awakers themselves are not ready, since they for whatever reason never tell how to don't give a fuck to those in power along with their truthtelling.

Bitcoin specifically and cryptocurrencies as whole is a shining example that people may be already feed up with something, but at the same time don't even try to think about making authorities powerless.

Right, because AI creates faces based on millions of average real human features. So the result is the most human like face that anyone can recognize as normal.

Exactly. And this faces are not "AI generated". "AI" is not AI at all. And it just could not generate or create anything. It is a dumb algorithm to calculate most probable result from what was used to adjust it.

And.. where there is interaction... They censor it...

They censor only what they assume as "internet". They have no clue that there is really much more.

There's no attention to quality, it's all just about producing slop for mass appeal.

Even on their own territory of centralized social media they need to significantly overcome independent content creators. Even sheeple occasionally could produce something that could completely ruin narrative. So they have to produce a lot of content, but their resources are limited, so more content they create, less quality it have. They had huge hopes about neural network generated content, but that failed, because even dumb sheeple could distinguish real person content from ANN generated one.

It's 'success', reinforces it's own failure.

Kind of.

quantum computing (which already exists and 1000 qubits is nearing implemenatation)

Quantum computing is useless. More qbits you have, larger error you get. With few dozen qbits error is already make result senseless. There is still no any proof that any quantum computer ever did any useful calculation at all. The best result quantum computing have for a long time is finding that number 21 consists from prime numbers 7 and 3. And it is really staged result obtained from quantum computer built for exact purpose of factorization of number 21.

Quantum computing is a joke. It is one of systems that does not scale. And there are no any signs of some breakthrough that could solve that problem. And as far as I understand, such scientific breakthrough will have huge influence on whole physics, not just on stupid QCs, it would be as huge, as inventing antigravity or FTL. Just one of side effects of such breakthrough will be possibility to utilize zero-point energy. Comparing only to that thing, all quantum computing is just a stupid and irrelevant joke. That is why probability that such breakthrough will be allowed is close to zero.

It is funny, how elites put themselves to the corner with their obsession about access to private encrypted info. To get that. they have to allow things that will destroy them. :)

Those that aren't, aren't allowed to exist (companies, products and algos take off the market)

There is a huge part of software that invulnerable to such threats since it exists outside the market.

As for crypto - all existing crypto is just a beta version. It is only beginning of alternative currencies and means of exchange development. Trying to apply expectations from final product to the beta version and proof-of-concept things is idiocy.

You partially right about next crypto version necessities, but cryptography is not the top problem, really. Most problems barely connected with crypto at all, like reliable and independent connectivity or node consensus resolution algorithms. Funny fact - power consumption of PoW cryptos is not a problem, really. Power in any case spent for heating. PoW crypto mining rig is just a sophisticated heater, that in addition to converting electricity into heat like regular heater, also mine some coins. Here people who are in crypto mostly for fun and independence, not for making profit, just use mining rigs as heaters for houses. I have small XMR rig as heater for a shed. In any case I have to spent some electricity to keep temperature above 0°C, so why not mine a little coins at the same time to, f.e., pay for abroad hostings and domain names?

That "internet" all that "internet" journalists talk about was never alive in the first place.

There exists at least two entities with same name. Internet as an TCP/IP network and "internet" as a bunch of well-known corporations services created on top of that TCP/IP network. The latter was never alive. This thing was created as an urgent replacement of dying traditional MSM propaganda machine to prevent normies attention shift from centralized cable/press/radio/TV machine to something distributed and barely controlled. One of the things MSM was seriously disturbed by is a way new TCP/IP media developed in area of author-user interaction. With Internet users get a way to establish instant conversation with author and argue with him publicly. If that feature would have been allowed to develop further, MSM would not survive, because MSM's main principle was inability of consumers to publicly question MSM narratives and points. So they roll out "internet" for sheeple, where they keep their ability to never answer any questions.

If you separate that two internets, then all that whining about "internet death" will become pretty clear and irrelevant. Next logical step is to stop using their "internet", that was dead from the very beginning, but it is completely another story.

The power company would have to give permission or rent the use of the poles to the internet companies to run fibre on.

It's pretty cheap. Electric company for shure have calculations for poles ownership and maintenance. It is fully covered by tiny part of your electricity price. The only additional expense is to take some care of fiber when doing some repair work on poles. Usually it is purely symbolic price. Often electric company do that just in exchange to internet connection for their powerline monitoring devices.

Also, if you are in small settlement or have dedicated power line, and want to throw fiber by yourself, try to talk with powerline maintenance guys. Nobody except them know what is on the poles in their zone of responsibility, so they often agree to care about fiber during repair for symbolic price. If they live in your settlement it is even easier - jusr share some internet with them or make a discount.

What do you guys do with the fibre lines to make them not snap in winter if they’re on the power lines? With ice building up even the steel power lines they’ll snap and need to be repaired in the winter. Is there a steel sheath over your fibre line to keep the ice from breaking it during the winter?

You need self-supporting fiber. It made differently from inhouse and underground ones and is pretty good at withstanding all loads cable could expirience when run on poles.

First, such fiber is thin and its outer insulation usually made from polyethilene, so ice can't build up on them in any significant amount, it just does not stick, and easily fall off.

Second, fiber is reinforced with steel or fiberglass rope, so it is very strong, even thin 4-8 fiber ones with diameter of 5-6mm are usually as strong as power wires. Sometimes it even could hold a small fallen tree without problems for connectivity. Fiberglass reinforced is noticeably cheaper and often better than steel reinforced one. Even if moisture somehow sneak unde the outer shell, it will not rust. It is lighter with same strength so it could withstand larger load. Also it does not stretch with the time under own weigth.

Third - optical fibers run loose inside small central tube filled with half-liquid gel, so it have a huge reserve for elongation and/or bending

And last one - unlike power lines fiber does not heat up, it have ambient temperature, so there is much lower probability of ice buildup on them.

The only thing that is not recommended to do at low temperatures is fiber welding. If fiber is torn in winter, guys weld it back inside a warm van/truck cab, adding a long enough piece to make it possible, and then reel excess into a loop on a closest pole.

All in all winter, even severe one is not a problem for a fiber. Most often fiber is damaged by fallen trees, along with power lines, and it usually happen during summer thunderstorms and/or hurricanes.

Only specific thing with fiber is that you need an relatively expensive device to weld it together or add an endings with connector to it. Usually it is not a problem because any provider have such device and will not hesitate to repair fiber that bring them money. You could also buy a used one for cheap. For personal use, if you don't need to weld fiber daily, it will be more than enough.

You have no clue what "undocumented" means in this context. You think it has something to with features you can turn off or exploit.

Did you ever teardown something like Cisco ASR1000 series? I do. It's not some magic box with magic properties.

I'm really tired from that lame bullshit about secret hidden processors nobody could find that wait for some secret packet from somwhere. All that functionality, if it exists at all in such device, is run on main processor and implemented in plain firmware. For broadband devices you don't even need to hide that stuff in something like Intel ME, because corporations that made that stuff for providers and datacenters 146% shure that their customers will never dig inside so expensive device or reverse-engineer software of that "serious" devices under the threat of lawsuits and voiding warranty.

No, most telecom devices are pretty safe to use if you dared to replace official firmware.

What is the source of that modified firmware? It is also pretty easy. This devices somethimes are unique and could not be easily replaced. At the same time, many state organisations of different countries with strict security policies need them. They hire hackers/programmers to clean up that things from anything suspicious. They don't give a fuck to any "intellectual property" laws or contract terms that prohibit such activity. And they absolutely don't care if a modified firmware will leak to the public eventually.

It is another market with completely different laws and rules. Arrogance of manufacturers and dumb faith in the US laws plays funny games with them.

You have no clue about the criticality of backbone internet appliances or who operates them.

I personally know people who own backbone nodes here. And no, they will not follow some orders from US state department or whatever. So, even if US backbone will be shut off, US trafic will began to flow through other countries. Or you trying to tell me that US internet is not a bunch of different random interconnections between providers but some centralized thing where all US trafic flow through a single government controlled point? If so, then it is much worse than even Chineese internet and US have much severe problems and some potential internet outage is not even in top 100.

You think it has something to do with their processing power and ISPs.

I already told you, that all Cisco devices have very weak processors, comparing even to your phone. That is why firmware is pretty simple. No processors are used for packet processing in such devices. It's fabric's job, not processor one. And no existing CPU could process modern packet rates.

You have absolutely no idea how that things made and work at all. :) IDK, try to read something about how modern high-bandwidth switches and routers really work.

One company - Cisco - is the producer of 90% of the internet's routing infrastructure. Flip the switch on those "undocumented features" and taking the internet down is a turnkey operation.

That's not that simple. Those Cisco devices have a hacked IOS versions for decades with all that stupid Cisco "pay-to-work" features unlocked and any telemetry and all that stuff exterminated. Cisco routers/switches used in Internet eXchanges (IXes) and by internet providers are pretty simple and not very powerful computers with specific peripheral designed to switch packets at insane rates. Cisco already tried to turn off "subscriptions" for Russian users because of "sanctions". Less than 20% of sold devices show any signs of malfunction. Those at big corporations who for unknown reasons didn't replace IOS to a hacked version. Also, Cisco is not the only high-bandwidth solutions provider. There are Juniper, Huawei and many others. One country (or even some coalition) is unable to control all of them, even putting apart a question of hacked firmware which is very popular.

I think this "internet shutdown" will be done just by ordering Google/Microsoft/Apple to turn off their servers for public. Average sheeple will immidiately decide that internet does not work anymore, since they use gadgets completely locked onto that companies centralized services.

Internet itself is nearly undestroyable. Even if largest IX'es will be down, subnets will find each other through other channels. It could look weird, when packets from neighboring buildings in US will travel through Europe, but it will still work. Only those who sticked to that large IXes and have no reserve channels will suffer.

Say, it will be a funny act of temporary cleaning internet from sheeple, bots and MSM for "weeks of months". Nothing to care about, really.

As far as I know, rural settlements in US and Canada have electricity since early 1920s. So there is powerline poles to every village. Doing business is simplier in US than in most countries in the world. So I see no any problems to make money on providing internet in rural areas. And making money is what US citizens are good in.

I can't get in mind how it could be, when there is a huge barrels of money laying all over US and nobody want to take them.

Fiber is dirt cheap, there is a lot of used telecom equipment on the market for pennies, to hook fiber on poles you need just few guys with hands in right place, a truck and a ladder. Some insignificant investments and you have constant profit for decades without much maintenance.

But the computer in the house or cell phone is unprotected.

They are too small in size to receive solar storm pulse. There is no length to induce any significant current. Only way devices of suc size could be affected by solar storm is when they are on the orbit, and even in that case it is not electromagnetic, but just high energy charged particles interfere with electronics. Since we are covered by atmosphere, this charged particles could not reach your computer/phone, all you will get in the worst case is aurora flares high in the sky.

Of course, there could be some interference with radio frequesnces for the duration of solar storm, but radio noise could not damage your devices too.

Solar storm is not like microwave oven irradiating everything on the Earth surface. It is like one period of powerful ultralow frequency wave. It will induce huge unwanted currents in the miles long power lines, but will do nothing with objects of computer/phone size. Size matters, despite any feministic propaganda. :)

Yet you think everyone has state of the art internet?!

IDK, Russia is not the most technically developed country, so if even far Russian villages have fiber, then West for shure have at least same level of internetisation. I don't see any problem to have fiber along the power lines. If you have mains power in rural area, then you certainly have to have fiber on power poles. Fiber is dirt cheap and don't need any maintenance at all, if only it was not torn by fallen tree.

One of the biggest complaints is that internet companies keep taking grants to provide internet to areas, don't do their job

Wait a second. You mean internet companies need grants to do their business? Isn't it profitable to throw fiber line to a village over existing power line poles and have permanent money flow from it? Even if you connect 10 houses with $10 monthly payments in a village 10km away from nearby optics muff, then your fiber will be paid off in less than a year. Here, most providers just take around $100 for hookup per house and that instantly covers all their installation costs.

I can't imagine anything cheaper and more reliable with lower maintenance cost than fiber line.

Of course there exists villages somewhere in Siberia or far North without electricity and even normal roads, hundreds of miles from any infrastructure but it is an exception and mostly it is a settlements of indigenous nomad tribes. There are also abandoned villages, but as soon as somebody settled there, electric company is ready to connect it back and so internet providers goes after soon.

Even most dachas (vacation housing villages) which populated only at summer time, have decent internet connectivity today.

What are you talking about? How throwing a dozen miles of cheap as dirt fiber could be something problematic for any developed country?

Normal people have UPS for their computer tech. Rural inhabitants for shure have gas/gasoline/diesel generators. Others should suffer.
