I think there is a secular nation of Israel as land, formed in 1948, and there will be a new Israel as land remade by God, which I don't believe has happened yet, as well as Israel as 12 tribes of people that will be called by God to reunite, which could even be happening now.
I think it was a risk not an inevitability.
The problem with Eden is that we can't know how the Lord would have taught us these things 'that way' instead of in our present predicament, but He teaches either way, didn't have to betray Him to learn is my meaning.
