What is life about? How do you make sense of your existence? What is your best estimate / theory of what we are doing here and how all of this came to be?
Is this: (A) Christianity - God created the world and man rebelled? (B) Evolution - Happenstance? (C) Other alien races exist and are in a 10000 year battle; and we are in a living in Reptilian Soul Recycler? (D) Simulation - Some type of computer simulation running for purposes beyond our comprehension.... (E) ....
I'm really curious to hear of your best estimate / theory of how all of this came to be.
Carl Sagan in The Varieties of Scientific Experience: A Personal View of the Search for God, says, (paraphrased):
Our local star is orbitted by four large masses and some insignificant debris. We're on the third piece of debris, whose surface is covered by a patina, a thin vaneer, of life.
Do you share his view of things?
I mean, it's not overtly false. Reductionist, sure. If there's a kabbalistic layer between reality and what we experience, then there's no way to be certain of anything.
Of OP's list, B,C, and D are all equally insufficient to describe the whole, so it's likely a combination of those.
Universe made by God, species made by aliens, governance has been "AI" for at least a hundred years.
Yes, but even longer than that..(Babylon and before)
