Sunstein correctly said that Conspiracy theories have a self-sealing quality. Never has that been any more evident than with the Q ‘movement’. It is exactly Operation Trust. There is no point talking to them in truth. They are much too invested in Q and ‘the plan’ being real. Every loss is reframed and formulated to maintain some elusive sting operation narrative and it always will be.
That’s the self-sealing behaviour of cults and some Conspiracy Theories.
Sunstein of course takes the position that ALL Conspiracy theories are dangerous and made up of lies which is abundantly not the case. Nevertheless it’s better to know what he says, thinks and advises on the subject because it makes things like Qanon more transparent.
