(Thread prompted by the one about seeing someone with lizard eyes, who is possessed by a demon)
I have once. Waken from a dead cold sleep, my girlfriend and future wife said to me "we're not alone". I looked at the foot of the bed and their was a very angry young boy. I was shocked and became afraid myself as I sensed a power there, and then, like a balloon popping, he vanished.
She asked me what I saw, I said a very angry young boy, who looked to be age 9-10. She confirmed that was what she saw too.
I suppose it could have been an angry guardian angel, or even a passing demon, but let's go with ghost.
I have never doubted things spiritual since that day. I was about age 19.
My grandma was near death in the hospital. That night I sensed her at the foot of my bed and believed this was a sign she had passed. Next day or so, I went to the hospital and she was still alive.
If she had passed then I'd be telling everyone this was a ghost and would be convinced of it, but I guess it was just my mind playing tricks.
When one of my grams was dying in the hospital I was home trying to sleep (sometime after 11pm) and I sat bolt upright and couldn't catch my breath, got a phone call within minutes she had passed. My mom was in the room with her. I still think it's weird.
a cup swinging on a cup hook ---- just keeps swinging
I see the reaper(s), they are typically around a day or two before someone dies but stick around until they pass. I've seen dark ones, but the "light" type are alone. My grandson saw one once and I saw it as well. I explained what I have noticed and our neighbor passed a day or two later. Then my grandkids called me and told me they saw them again at their apartment building. I told them to be careful and stay together the next few days. Their neighbor passed a day or two later. I believe they (the dark ones) are hunting.
I should clarify that the dark type are in a group of ~3 but the light type are alone.
Fascinating
Watch for dark shadows, around the size of a medium to small dog. It took me a while to figure out what I was seeing and then it hit me why I was seeing them so often in the same field near what I thought a senior living home. It was a hospice.
Why don't you cast them out in Jesus's name?
What reason would I have for that? Everyone will die at some point. I'm of the mind that it's better to be ready at all times and not let it consume my life
Not so much a ghost but a swirling of three orbs with auras.
My & My girlfriend had just finished up sexy time and were basking in the afterglow when three circling orbs entered the room through a closed door. They then paused in forward movement but hovered while still circling one another spinning--as if watching us, then they darted off through another closed door. In all the entire episode spanned maybe 10-12 seconds. They were spinning around each other in a circle, kind of as if someone was juggling them. They were about as big as softballs.
I was a bit thrown off--didn't want them to pick up any of my moves, ya know?
Did she see them too?
I've seen a lifetime of weird things. New England was a hotbed. One time I was working on a farm that dated back to the 1600s. I was in the middle of a pasture kneeled over connecting hose or something, working alone. I glanced up and saw a pair of legs from the waist down walk past me- grey and opaque like a cloud. It looked like the shape of a pair of trousers and boots and took about 5-6 steps. Then they just faded away.
This actually sounds badass. Kinda like you were working in a field and overlapped some part of the space-time continuum. Both of you working in the same space. Just different times. A glitch in the matrix.
Yeah, you know I thought about it and his trajectory was from the back acreage moving towards the house and barn. It was near the spot we used for a path because it was along the edge of that particular field. So if you think about it, that's a reasonable place to see something that's happened many times before. It wasn't like I was back in the woods or something like that.
lots of times before = many people walking around that field. That particular farm was a historical preservation so the house and outbuildings were original. Some of the fields were divided with stone walls- we didn't need a fence.
I was young- maybe 5 or 6 years old. Visiting my great-great uncle (he was pushing 100 at the time) in his retirement community. Parents were checking our family in at the front desk, and I see an old lady in a blue track suit sprint across the lobby and vanish. Being so young, I was confused about what I saw and didn’t mention it to anyone.
After checking in, we go up to my GG uncle’s apartment, and he tells us that one of his friends in the community had passed just the day prior. She was a lady who used to be an avid runner, but would still power walk the halls on a regular basis wearing a blue track suit.
Little me got crazy goosebumps in that moment. Still didn’t tell anyone what I’d seen— somehow knowing it wouldn’t have been well received.
How dark was it?
Middle of the night dark, but some ambient light from moon, and electronics in the room, etc. I remember a faint yellow light that seemed to emanate from the ghost, but I can't be sure.
I see. So is it possible there were just some shadows and things that looked like a boy in the dark? Until there was a change to the electronic light, trees casting shadows moved or you and your girlfriend moving?
The materialist in me would say this, but the key things that changed my mind was that she woke me up saying "we're not alone" but nothing else. I looked and saw what I saw, and then she asked me what she saw, and I said the angry boy. Then she confirmed that she saw this as well. Also, inexplicably the lighting didn't change and what we both saw disappeared.
There is no such thing as a shared hallucination.
I'm not suggesting it was a hallucination but that you could have both seen an illusion created by the light and shadows. If the light didn't change then perhaps it disappeared as your eyes adjusted. There are optical illusions where you can see a person one second then see a different figure and lose the person and have difficulty seeing it the first way again. Or it could have been a ghost for all I know.
All I can say is I saw what I saw when I saw it (if you catch the movie reference).
It was the spirit of the little boy she aborted 9 years ago. The one she never told you about. It's following her now, and will pop up as a reminder to her and any of her future lovers as a warning as to what she did and what she is.
Lol
Then she got pregnant at 9. Oh, and I popped her cherry too.
Sicko.
I did 3-4 weeks ago. No one believes me. If I tell u here u will not believe me. You will not believe who I saw. And our interaction.
But I have opened my minds eye....... A little. Thru stoicism, Machievelli, my life as a naive man, just signs.... an accident where I got seriously hurt.... The people I constantly run into problems with ((())) I live in bklyn ...... My life as a conspiracy theorist. Whether I knew it or not ...
The ghost?
I saw Hannah Arendt.
3 weeks later I find out via Prof Jiang that Arendt was born in Prussia.
None of this is coincidence.
The Prussian connection is so insane..... I'm doing my research. ....... Something's wrong there ...... The destruction and erasure of a non-Nazi, German bred, highly innovative country and peoples????
Needs massive research.
What was your experience? And who is that?
Hannah Arendt, look her up plz.
Go to deli, around corner, talking to the guys. Took 12 minutes maybe... lady buys a pack of smokes up front and then says something to Kal and Z. Something about Quran. she leaves.
I bum a cigarette from Z, a Parliament. I quite smoking a while ago but whatever, took smoke, left. Around corner by laundromat this lady lighting her cig and I ask her for a light and she hands me lighter. I ask her what she asked them about Quran and she had to repeat herself a few times because I am hard of hearing.
she said she told them she goes to a senior center and they read the Quran to some people there in Arabic, and she found it lovely. I asked her if she was Arabic and she said no. Went home.
Later I saw a picture of Hannah Arendt and it was this lady. I haven’t seen this lady since, never did before, and later I also find out, quick research that Arendt smoked ALOT.
Call me crazy.
Could've just been someone who looking like her.
I know. I know.
My old neighbours died a few years ago. They were great people and we were worried about the caliber of neighbour we’d end up with once their place sold.
Welp, we got some Sri Lankans. It’s been over two years and they still haven’t moved in because of ghosts.
First night they stayed there they saw two ghosts storming around the place yelling at them to “get out of their home”. I was skeptical at first, but, he described our previous neighbours to a tee. Right down to the old guys distinctive cough and tattoos and the lady’s distinctive jewellery.
Those old guys were like extra grandparents to our kids. Looks like they’re still looking out for us.
I can't say I've had that exact experience.
Start with what quickly became the locus classicus, Imagine Heaven by John Burke, which I'm currently rereading. This covers all kinds of near death experiences. Most are reported upon return, which gives context for visions that do not generally qualify as "near death"; however, it can be categorized as NDE if it's an out-of-body experience (OBE) or an open vision (some of which are reported in process even though the person dies and does not return).
The sentient characters met are of two kinds, those identifiable as humans who lived on earth, and those identifiable as intelligences who appear in service to humans ("angels"). (We should probably include visions of symbols that represent collectives of humans because they act sentient, but these are generally recognized as symbolic and not individual.) Note that there is capacity for deception in this realm, but the fact is that when something tries another tack it can be removed as an outlier. This includes appearances of humans that don't act like they did on earth (deepfakes), appearances of intelligences that don't act like they are there to serve (adversaries), and appearances of sentient cryptids whether or not the cryptid species exists on earth (beasts).
The general rule is that the observer has an intuitive feeling what entity is being dealt with, what is true and what is deceptive, based on the whole experience. That indicates direction but can be trumped by recognition of contradiction later. There are specific exceptions, but reporters generally know by human intuition what they're really dealing with; if they are following a deception they have a consciousness of the contradiction but then face the choice to admit or deny it.
So the "ghost" subset includes both the humans that continue to act as they did and counterfeits that seek to "slide" the human's identity. As pointed out there, the "spirit" subset includes those not clearly identified as earthly humans, and it's common for some light or dark spirits to be seen as a death approaches (here called "reapers" though that is a bit less accurate for their roles of accompaniment and influence). There is evidence that dark spirits can be thwarted in their goals, though I haven't seen evidence that light spirits have been successfully thwarted as they follow natural flow ("letting things happen"). But the spirits as here defined can be distinguished from the ghosts.
The Bible says that the witch of Endor saw the ghost of Samuel and implies that she was shocked because she intended to see a counterfeit instead (a "familiar"). It also says that Stephen saw Jesus as he was dying (though this is a special exception to being a ghost, because Jesus had the body as he said so himself). Christians and skeptics alike experience that the name of Jesus is an unparalleled guide for managing and directing the behavior and communications of all such entities. Therefore the ghost story proper, which categorizes as open vision, can be safely navigated with trust in God to be greater than any ghost; and the allied phenomena give much evidentiary reflection upon the ghost story.
