One context with "flesh" means other people. The other in a different context means your sin nature. There are NO contradictions in the Bible.

Hi Neo1. "Soon" for us is not soon according to God and the Biblical timeline. Our life is but a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. He may or may not come in our lifetimes. We could even die today. As it is written,

"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work." (Revelation 22:12)

Only by being born again and having God's Holy Spirit in us can we have any chance of living according to His standards. We must completely surrender ourselves to Him and seek His strength and the cleansing of our wicked hearts, and live according to His word with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Remember,

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Jesus can make you free from your sins. Seek His strength, and not your own. For we know that nothing good dwells in us, that is, our flesh. Also, keep watch on your heart, that you are not making excuses for yourself. The heart is very deceitful.
