I personally think tiny houses are cool too, and I think their popularity is something more than just liberals being brainwashed dipshits signalling their virtue by living in human habitrails.
Really, the attraction to tiny homes is a direct and practical refutation to all those same liberals who think humanity will "ruin the entire planet" as long as they remain without boots stamping on their faces forever.
Put simply, the vast majority of people wish only to live quite modestly. Prosperous and even wealthy people very frequently choose to live quite well below their means, just like other "normal" people. You'd never be able to pick them out of a crowd. I believe Warren Buffett still lives in the 3500sf suburban home he bought in the 60s.
This is also why Leftists find people like Mike Lindell so infuriating and intolerable. Here's a billionaire that, instead out being out spraying petroleum all over Yellowstone from his Gulfstream, you might see in line in front of you at a fast-food joint. Worse, you may have considered yourself above going to such a joint in the first place.
Bizarre bonus note for anyone who ever thought Bill Gates might have been replaced with a body double at some point: Way, way back when he was the richest person in the world worth only $50B, he was asked in an interview what it was like to have so much money.
He said, "Well, that's just an arithmetic calculation: a number of shares times a price per share. It doesn't really make much difference. No matter what it was, I would still get the same hot dog."
Strange words from the person we know as a Bond villain today.
Gates....musk....all of them are creations of the new world order....they own nothing...they have no money...they have a credit card that is under full control of the money masters. The image put forth of them like celebrities are created as the Luciferian rulers see fit
I have mixed emotions regarding tiny houses. I understand building code requirements to ensure a livable house with minimum square footage requirements, but at what point does it serve the home building industry?
ding ding ding we must ask permission(permit) to work on said property. our cars can be stolen by govt if we dont pay yearly registration tax and insurance. We arent allowed to have 10,000 dollars of our hard earned money on us were considered criminals if we do.
How about Federal Reserve Bankers get IMPALED and be happy???
How about all attendees to the next WEF meeting slide down pikes and be happy while they stop exhaling carbon dioxide and help slow the spread of global warming? Impalements are SAFE AND EFFECTIVE at slowing global warming!
I see this is old but somehow I found this thread while searching to see if there was a Tiny House sub.
I'm in the same mindset. I understand the concept of a Tiny House but some people were/are making very foolish decisions that would be better served with an actual mobile home or building a bungalow style house.
Then there are the poor bastards building with shipping containers not realizing how much that's going to screw them in the long run.
It would be fine but I have a feeling this is what the new normal is supposed to be. The problem is high property taxes on single family homes and high prices of homes. The average person should be able to purchase a home with a yard and backyard for about $500 a month. There is a theory the tiny house movement is designed to set people up to live more like peasants with no land or enough room to be self sustaining at all.
No one is owed anything but high prices keep everyone in the rat race. And to sustain the rat race we all have to some how pay into it so everyone makes enough to survive. It's a crazy system. I think we as humans could be living much different. Say you are young and work two jobs earn enough to buy a property flat out with no future property taxes (that's almost impossible in most states and cities today). Then after that is bought you have no rent the rest of your life no mortgage. Maybe you live off your land and just do what you enjoy to make a living. I think people are so caught up in this rat race we forget that maybe it shouldn't be this way. If everyone wasn't trying to make rent and mortgage every month perhaps they would do more things with their time... hobbies and such. I am not suggesting giving people anything I am just saying one should be able to work hard when they are young and then be able to enjoy their life and property ...not busting your ass until you die. When I see those small tiny houses in those articles I can see the appeal. Cheap rent! But it seems like a small token to get people to forget we could perhaps have a simpler yet more fuller life. That's also the appeal of tiny house living right? But how much you want to bet these turn into ghettos and trailer park like places soon. I am all for less consumerism but the way things are we have to keep buying from each other just to pay bills... I don't have a total answer but I dont think we are doing things right...
Edit: and I have to wonder if in some part getting rid of taxes would work... I believe the average person in the USA pays about 50% of their income to taxes when all is said and done... We are taxed on everything (bills, groceries, movies, going out to eat...) Think of a shirt that gets made. The material was taxed to start, then the first person to buy it was taxed and if it gets sold or donated the next person pays tax, then that person sells it online tey next buyer pays a tax. It's crazy when you think about it. Or cars...every person that ever buys a car pays taxes and every time that car is sold a new person will pay a tax. Maybe if we kept 50% of our income and worked less we would volunteer more in our community fixing and building things...? Get rid of welfare and taxes perhaps would be a place to start....
I never had a problem with the idea of living in a "tiny home.
...as long as it's got a "big-ass shop" next to it, with both on 5-10+ acres of woodland. preferably somewhere between the OR/WA coast and I-5.
You have literally "owned nothing" for decades, ever heard of "Property Taxes"?
It can go both ways. I personally want one on wheels, but the only ones I've seen that aren't yuck are self builds.

Avoiding commercialism and McMansions -> based
Tiny house because of the NWO -> cucked
Yeah property taxes should go....
Putting a trailer on 40 acres is seriously under rated.

Yeah, thinking that whole "spark joy" thing might have been to lead folks to "own nothing" also.....
I stayed in one for a few days in Portland a few years ago. It was OK. Not sure I could live in one.
Building my dream house on 5 acres which is smallish by modern standards. The shop I'm planning, not so much.
I could by myself not with more than me though.
It's basically a small apartment and rent is cheap.
What exactly is your problem?

Says who? I'm serious. Where does this idea come from that people are somehow owed ownership of land?

It's not even owning it's renting for $500 a month. That should be a mortgage payment on a small single family home.
