Before they tinkered with our dna, adding their own to ours. We couldnt speak and we were not even aware of being naked. If you believe the old stories, one of the ways they knew they had a sentient worker was when their creations became aware of being naked. Who knows, but it makes sense why the bible has this big thing about adam and eve not showing their shame.
Sure, we would have got here on our own, proably with another 100 million years of evolution. But I am thankful for my existence, if it werent for the pain and humiliation inflicted on me by other humans.
The problem is, giving intelligence to a life form, is like giving the keys to a nuclear launch platform to a child. To much knowledge and power is dangerous when in the hands of people or a species who hasnt earned it properly.
Humans are one of the few mammals unable to manufacture ascorbic acid in their liver. Most other animals, except the ape family and guinea pigs, produce ascorbic acid in the liver from glucose in relatively higher amounts than we receive from today's modern diets.
Good way to cripple or control humans is to make them weaker and defective. Most species that dont create their own vitamin c are those like the fruit bat (eats a lot of vitamin c from fruits)
