The article showed how the grey matter in the gay male brain more resembles the grey matter of a woman's brain than a hetero male brain.
The surmised that the reason for the same sex behavior is related to the physical brain structure. They were not able to provide any opinion on what and whether there was a cause for the difference (i.e. birth defect, genetic mutation, chemicals during pregnancy, etc).
So I believe that the preference for same sex is definitely beyond a simple social decision or exposure to a perversion or abuse. Those may play a part in whether same sex preference is manifested in the person's choices, but there is a physical hurdle that is part of it. This is why I think conversion therapy is a non-starter.
