This is definitely a fake crisis, we've seen a new round of anti-egg propaganda from Bill Gates and the Media. Apparently Mexico is having 0 supply issues, as people having been arrested for buying Mexican eggs at less than $1/doz and trying to bring them back to America.
As a chicken guy I can tell you they lay about half the number of eggs in the winter with supplemental light. Maybe a little bit more if you heat the coop. Without electricity they will lay close to zero. I use private chicken feed grown by a friend and this time of year is hard. I normally get 10 eggs a day but am only getting 5 or 6 right now with supplemental lighting
It's wider ranging than just Tractor Supply. I asked my mom who has a lot of friends with chickens if she's heard anything and she sent me this text from her friend:

The bag Said 16% protein but it could not have been. So, I added raw ground beef daily and they were laying with in a week.
I now get my non gmo, non soy from the tucker line over in Hiawassee.
I started by just dipping bread into my enemies' blood and tasting it. Then i liked the way it made me feel and drank their blood out of chalice. A few enemies I cut their hearts out while they were alive and ate it in front of them as they quickly died.
That was long before vaccine regimens. I don't carelessly drink anyone's blood these days. Spike proteins and jew poison flowing through them. Vampires are pissed.

Chickens love when I spread out the compost pile late winter/ early spring, the amount of grub worms is amazing. Less Beatles come summer as well
