Exactly...so many better home remedies that won't fuck you up...but let's keep pushing Tylenol...even though there's a lawsuit for pregnant mothers...but it's totally safe for everyone else. Not ...
How high is a fever you are describing? You know our bodies have fevers for a reason? And how long does it last? Something should only be taken if it lasts for too long or is too high. Depending on these, has anything else been tried? I'm not sure if you are giving a what if, or something that has actually happened to you.
Tylenol depletes glutathione levels...
Belladonna, colloidal silver, elderberry, there other homeopathic remedies that you can search for...they all kind of cover different topics. Typically you have to look at the fever and whatever other symptoms you might have too. It seems to be always recommended to take zinc, vit d, maybe magnesium...etc etc...
there are a lot of resources online for all kinds of things. you just have to look and try it. I personally want to stay away from all this medicine from big pharma if at all possible. I know there are times when we might need them and I acknowledge that...but I have yet to encounter that instance myself.
The nutshell is that my 12 year old has been sick on and off (basically a week or two he iealthy followed by a week or two with the flu) since ate july or early august. Mid to high fever (up to 103.9) is very persistent with advil & Tylenol bringing relief.
We are very concerned about giving these deugs so we don't overdo it but the symptoms tough on him.
We've also been to a pediatrician without much success, and are now headed to naturopath for vloodwork analysis and allergy/food sensitivity testing.
Long way of saying I would be grateful for a way to help him out without advil and Tylenol.
Thanks for your suggestions ‐ I am already giving him vitamins d, c, daily and zinc/quercetin every few days along with elderberry.
Hmm, that sounds similar to some things I read in the vaccine free child group I'm in. Let me look again and see if there is any other info they might have that is valuable. Typically a fever should only last a day or two. But I know we take things that lower it, and then it can tend to come back if it's trying to do what it needs to do.
Sorry if I came off as potentially rude. A lot of people seem to want to give shit for even saying things about tylenol at this point...even on here.
Here are a few recommendations I found for fevers...may be helpful. A lot say those meds only last as long as they are supposed to, and then you have to take more...which really isn't good.
-If we have fevers now, we up the fluid intake. A bath with Lavender & Lemon oil on Epsom salt works amazingly well to reduce and keep fevers down for longer then meds did for us. If not a bath then a few drops Lavender on the spine and/or bottom of feet works great too. If Lavender doesn’t cut it then I do a drop of peppermint oil on the bottom of feet. For adults we do Peppermint on bottom of feet. I love not having to remember what time I gave anything. With oils, we can apply as often as needed. And no recovery days needed for being sick yet.
-freshly squeezed lemon juice in lemonade small sips often. This reduces fever and helps to kill the bug.
-I have used diluted lemon oil rubbed on the belly with great success
-The highest fever we had was 106 and we used wet sock treatment, and detox baths and skin to skin. We also up all immune support and keep them hydrated. My kids have never had fever reducers. Sliced potatoes on the feet works wonders.
Apparently there is also this thing called Periodic Fever Syndrome (PFAPA)...not sure if relevant for you...or some kind of funky bug...but maybe worth looking into.
Hope any or all of this can help. The unvaccinated peeps are very helpful with this stuff...As they don't typically use traditional medicines. I am slowly learning what works. Sometimes it's hit or miss...but I've mostly been dealing with cramps or headaches.
It's the same with the formula and other kids products. They've been either out of stock or very low inventory since 2020. Foe my current baby we've had trouble even finding baby lotion.
But now how will we damage our children's livers every time they have an ouchie?
LOL this comment. It is kinda true that must drugs are toxic to the body.
Yeah, it expires before it gets used up around my house. Most people don't realize the damage they are doing using it for every little discomfort

Works very well for breaking fevers. I would love a home remedy that anywhere near as effective. Can you point me in that direction?
Maybe you need the fever to fight off an infection.
Break it and your body doesn't fight it as well.

Children's Tylenol causes a reduction in empathy in certain kids anyway, so nothing of value is missing.

Wow. We're creating kids with anti-social personality disorders.
My daughter got braces a few months ago and we got the last children's painkiller on the shelf, of all brands, after checking thee stores.
This isn't new.

No problem finding it at 2am 2 nights ago. My grandson was sick and they have it at gas stations here in Colorado.
