Don't beat off, cut out drugs and alcohol, don't ever regret, just move forward, find people you enjoy talking with and show them commensurate respect. It's not that people just want their suffering to end. Even if you can't bring yourself to an overt act of excusing yourself from the planet, you can just decrease your odds of surviving by various high-risk behaviors. Less effortful than that, there's no shortage of ways and levels to renounce living, like a long and pleasant trip from alcoholism to liver failure.
But what we see, rather, is people desperately searching for the slightest glimmer of hope. They stay glued to the set for the latest pronouncements from the heralds of their salvation. People used to go to church to hear the "good news". What they want is life, and they will go along with anything and anyone they think will bring it to them.
Finally, there is a fine line between those people and others who recognize that living is something more than avoiding death. Indeed, there are certain conditions--like slavery--which are worse than death itself.
Why would they worry about beds at concentration camps? Medical experiment camp? What if Israel was just a misdirect and it was all about experimenting?
