The Holocaust™ (marketed with as the one and only with a capital H since about 1970) is a work of fiction in which the nation of Germany under governance of the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany (NationalSozialistische Deutsche ArbeiterPartei / NSDAP) max-exterminated Jews in Germany in industrial fashion in "death camps". The largest concentration camp was at Ausschwitz and, according to the myth, the main method of execution there was by subjecting them to poisonous gas. It is also known in Hebrew as a Shoah. I hadn't read that one before. Here is another derivation.
It's true the NSDAP typically preferred Sozi as an abbreviation, but Nazi was used by detractors because it was a nickname for Ignaz (correctly derived from Ignatius, though that is merely symbolic in power other than reflecting the high concentration of Catholic Austrians around 1900). For this reason I joked earlier today that "Nacho" is just Spanish for "Nazi". (Both mean Ignatius.) The party briefly, but inconsistently, permitted Nazi as an abbreviation.
So "Nazi", besides its folk redefinition as national socialist, ultimately comes from the Roman gens Egnatia (100s BC) and is thus Latin-Etruscan. For "Ashkenazi" I see two etymologies, one from Semitic Kenaz (hunter), and one from (Lake) Ascania plus Armenian -az. The latter is connected to Homer's legendary Ascanius son of Aretaon. It's conceivable that the Biblical Ashkenaz could reflect the same tradition as the Homeric Ascanius. But of course in neither case can we tie them to Nazi. Rather, as is so often the case, the oversimplification of old roots allows us to claim modern folk etymologies that have their own life but no historical basis.
Oddly, Ascania gives rise by metathesis to modern Iznik, Turkey, formerly Nicaea, which would make some call the Nicene Creed the Ashkenazi Creed.
And of course the Ignatius to Nazi suggestion has nothing to do with Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556); founder of the Jesuits...

One part I stumble with getting through to some of my better informed friends who still believe this shit is they argue that most weren’t burned in the ovens, they used mass grave style pits and burned them in mass. And after refuting that saying then these grave pits should be detectable and measurable since we know what to look for we should be able to find it. Then the goal posts move to it was ALL over Europe and not just in the camps, all over Europe 6 million Jews doesn’t because of the evul germahn wahh machine. They simply want to believe it and no amount of proof like time in the ovens, temperature for zyklon b, lack of fuel and deforestation to get wood to burn that many bodies doesn’t matter. 'Witness Holocaust survivors' from the 'death camp' Ausschwitz claim that the bodies were cremated. There is another camp where they say it was a mass grave. They surveyed using ground sonar and found no large number of bodies. I don't remember whether they found any. Then, as you say, they shift the goal post and come up with 'bone dissolving machines'.
There was a good comprehensive post on the old Reddit Holocaust sub that went into great details about everything, but especially the bodies. It was just physically impossible to burn the amount of bodies in the given time, even spreading it out over the entire war, double bodies on the elevators, double in the ovens, with half the burning time it would be impossible. So of course they moved the goalposts and said it happened in East Germany, where the Russians destroyed all the camps and withheld I formation. As far as the graves none have been stumbled on but I do know of at least two "graves" that had debris and tons of concrete poured on top of them, I think it was also made a major crime to attempt to see what's under them.
Right? No matter what evidence is presented or lack of evidence there is to be found to support their position, they cling to it like it’s a religion and one can never doubt the dogma. In any other situation you require extraordinary amounts of proof. If you try to say I murdered someone, you need a body. Without a body it’s just a missing person. But here, we can say there’s 6 gorillion murders and only at best 115-250000 bodies to be accounted for. It's a master thesis written by a New Zealand history student in the early 90's. He wanted to write a neutral review or overview of Holocasut revisionism and revisionists, and judge if there was any merit to the subject. He concluded that indeed there was and that the facts as they lay them out are largely correct, despite his not liking them much as individuals supposedly to his Jewish roots.
Inevitably he distanced himself from the thesis in time and used to try and get all copies posted online taken down. He's gone so far as to put up a website disavowing it entirely, likely thanks to the influence of the Holocaust industry.
The thesis is excellent though, it's does a great job of laying out the revisionism up intl the time it was printed in the 90's. The conclusion chapter has a 12 part defense of his endorsement of the revisionists historical research, which is one of the best summaries I've read of how the gas chambers hoax came to be.
