Can you explain in your own words how a currency can be backed by a commodity in this day and age?

I'm not looking for debate (as the thread title states, I'm just wondering what people think).

However, there's another article explaining how the Texas cryptocurrency would work, so I'll just quote it:

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/texas-bill-would-create-state-issued-gold-backed-digital-currency

In practice, individuals would be able to purchase digital currency from the state. The state would then use the money to purchase gold that would be held in the Texas Bullion Depository or another secure vault. Individuals would be able to redeem their digital currency for dollars or gold.

If you think it's flawed, I'm interested in your thoughts.

Personally, I think it would be a great idea if it wasn't done by the government.

At least it'll be a better store of value than fed bucks, but you should still keep money aside for when you plan to make purchases.

They used front (screen) projection! Camera tricks - not cgi.

I'd imagine someone like Elon Musk would know the difference and that's on top of the meme he posts that depicts CGI in that era.

At the end of the day, no one ever said that CGI was used to fake the moon landing and strawman arguments are a sign that you're wrong and are relying on dumb people not to notice.

Elon sort of has a point.

I've read a lot of conspiracy theories about the moon landing and not once has CGI (computer generated imagery) ever been mentioned. I don't know what point you think he has, but he's making a strawman argument, which is a sign that he's wrong.

Yeah, any news that's worth knowing will reach people for free. Just because fake news is free doesn't mean that paying for news will reduce fake news.

It never was and everyone knows it but I'm not gonna debate it anymore.

Everything that's wrong with this guy:

  • "Charging for articles to minimize fake news": apparently he's never heard of The Washington Post. If anything, it's smarter to put speculation and lies behind a paywall because gossip sells.
  • "Racing to report accurate sourced information" : in today's world, "journalists" actually race to be the first ones to report, regardless of whether it's accurate or not.
  • "Covid vaccines are free": and how does this apply to news?
  • "Elon is calculated. Trust the process": This is shit that qtards say.

In this particular case, it's all about taxes.

One half of society is too dumbed down to realize it and the other half is too scared to fight back.

The internet is dead and everything in it should be met with skepticism.

I don't trust you

If the government tries to fake aliens, they would have to fool the space research community, which won't be easy because they know just how tough it is for life to come to fruition and how difficult it is to travel through space, both the time it takes and the health hazards from radiation.

The other option is to bribe them, but they're gonna look like idiots with all the countless hours of footage and text out there contradicting them. It could happen, though; we've seen just how much doctors are willing to lie when it came to Covid and Vaccines.

Let's start over.

Here's what you said:

but he said to never shut down the economy.

Are we in agreement that you're claiming that he said to not shut down the economy?

If not, read it again.

If so, please proceed to the next line.

US lockdown NOW, crisis till August: Trump says there are '15 days to stop the spread' and old must stay home, gatherings over 10 people end and schools, offices, bars, and restaurants close to beat coronavirus

If that's not shutting down the economy, I don't know what is.

Are we in agreement that everything he described is essentially him saying to shut down the economy, as I said in the above quote?

If not, you're intellectually dishonest.

If so, there's nothing to argue about.

Good bye.

Agent Orange 2.0 found his Kushner:

NEW: Elon Musk tells me Twitter has now dropped all media labels. Asked why, Musk says: “This was Walter Isaacson’s suggestion.”

Politics is comprised of cults. The biggest 3 in America are dems, reps, and Trump.

If they provide it...yes, you still need to do some work...but it's likely they are least expect people to click the links....

So you're still doing your own research then, right? You still have to go through their link, their link will provide the terminology that you claim will taint the search results, and you will use that tainted terminology to do your own research.

Either way, I don't see the difference. Sure, it's nice if they provide a link if they're asserting that their claim is true, but if someone tells me not to trust them and to do my own research, it doesn't mean that they're lying, it just means that I should find out for myself if what they're telling me is the truth. Like I said, it's some of the best advice you can get.

Great video, worthy of its own thread!

user20461 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah but now you are researching what they told you research and will use the terms they use....

How is this any different or better than them providing you the source and you accepting it as the truth? And you are accepting it as the truth if you're not doing any research on your own.

Doing your own research is the best thing you could do. It's so great that the Cult of Covid warned against people doing their own research and they were lying about everything.

As a matter of fact, the article that the OP is referencing is written by commie scum who propagated the Covid lies. That's all I need to know about doing my own research.

If someone tells me to do my own research, my first inclination would be to go and do some research.

Maybe I'm just old-fashion.

"Don't take my word for it, do your own research" is just a lovely little tactic to build trust and prevent someone from looking into something.

Wait, what?
