ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Yes, Ayh could always ignore you. But Ayh'm not going to do that. As that would be silly.

ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ As for lazy; You are explicitly lazy of thought and execution, relying on the viewer to inject meaning into your words through the assumed good intent on your part.

ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Not Good.

But I won't 'say that'. As Ayh know that you are against this. So, Ayh don't understand why you are saying this (texting this), or how you are presuming to do so in another man's name. Now do you expect us to go find the actual video you took this screen cap from for context, or should we just ignore you outright?

do I need to speak to be sentient?

  • No, just comprehend.

are deaf people sentient?

-Yes, deaf people are sentient, though impaired in their abilities for higher comprehension. (obviously).

  • Their language was created by the greater society.
  • If you are deaf from birth, you are at a severe disadvantage.
  • Though they may be less vulnerable to manipulation by language manipulation.

Question: What does melancholy taste like when you think without words?

This is literally what controlled opposition looks like. it's slightly off target, and easily disproved.

2 moderators on another site I frequent disappeared on the 6th and 7th of last month. Couple of mouthy cunts. Poof. No goodbyes, stopped responding mid thread.

The key word here is 'enable', and I don't do 'what if's'.

How did “That was a great operation,” become "It was a brilliant operation"? I guess we'll never know.

My two cats I owned as a child (mother and daughter) were hyper intelligent and highly empathetic. Yet none the less, them as with dogs, I consider to be sentient to a lesser degree, possessing lesser souls. This in no way should be seen as a slight against them, as a black bear also has a lesser soul, yet demands your respect.

I too agree that stuff is happening. Which I suppose is why this thread is so heavily up voted. As it can be interpenetrated any way you wish, without need to stand on it's own merit.

Yes, I'm being salty.

People ask if machines can be sentient. They do not ask if a it can be sapience/(self-)consciousness. For starters, that first word means ape.

Maddox argues that Data is Starfleet property, not a sentient being, and as such does not have the right to choose to resign.

(Look at this. You have me citing a Star Trek episode.)

I believe that animals are sentient to a lesser degree. As they have no ability to maintain a long term language, and no ability to think in a structured manner.

You are missing the point of the three attributes. They create the possibility of language and the written words. Take Dolphins for example. They are said to have a language. But posses no ability to write it down. Large brain. Large voice box. No thumbs. Lesser being. Lesser consciousness. Less sentience.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentience

Sentience is the ability to experience feelings and sensations.[3] It may not necessarily imply higher cognitive functions such as awareness, reasoning, or complex thought processes.

This definition claims that it 'may not'. Which is an odd way of saying it does.

Now go ask your dog how he feels about Jesus.

Sentience is to be aware. The degree of your awareness is reliant on language. Lesser beings are incapable of your level of awareness, due to their lack of capacity for language.

Self reflection is reliant on introspection, which is all reliant on language. You can not form thoughts without words.

Go on, try it.

These three body parts enable all thoughts and language in sentient species, without them you are just living moment to moment without complex memories.

You think, therefor you are.

Not much game play in that reveal trailer. Seems rather plot/story heavy. And that is one long cut scene.

My own beliefs and speculations have it that terrain theory is not absolute, and that germ theory is a lesser aspect, 80/20 terrain to germ. I believe that genetic debris can have a catalytic effect, and is capable of encoding an infected body. But does not constitute an organism in itself, as postulated in germ theory.
