Yes the SBU did get Gonzalo and detained him for a week. He has been released but remains in Kharkov and is not allowed to leave. His computer and phone has been seized and his passwords to twitter and telegram have been changed by the SBU. He created a new twitter account but it's not the one linked here. It's @GonzaloLira1968
There is currently heavy fighting in Kharkov, internet is out in most parts of the city. Ukrainian SBU has been suspected of looking for him and he may be detained, killed, or just unable to get online. In any case there has been no updates from him for almost 2 days and he has missed scheduled interviews.

It's packed with a lot of detail and information and tries it's best to explain a complex history of Ukraine and surrounding area, and how we got here. It's several years old at this point, but still very relevant.

Seems plausible to me. I think Chandler is trying to share an objective analysis of the data and findings and not squeeze out a narrative. That's the kind of thing you want from a researcher.
