The lack of self awareness you demonstrate would be laughable if it weren’t for the horrific state of society it indicates

And just to make the title explicit:

I’m talking about people who proudly ascribe to themselves the label “Flat Earther”

I’m not talking about people humbled by the state of “so-called knowledge” in the modern world. I’m not talking about people who engage in good faith with others over what appear to be differences in interpretation of “the evidence”. There are a handful of people like that across the various .wins, and many of them are excellent contributors with useful voices.

I’m talking about people who are so transfixed and transfigured by what “secret revelation” they think they’ve “uncovered” {read: been spoon-fed by highly questionable entites} that they call anyone who proposes a contrary notion a “HERETIC” working for “THE DARK”

I think there really is something to the notion... here’s a post I made a while back, you might be interested in (funnily enough, I didn’t even connect it to FE at the time, but it really is applicable):

https://communities.win/c/ConsumeProduct/p/12jJs7bEsb/canon-lore-the-great-awakening-a/c

I left out a key part of this discussion, the link to the so called “Great Awakening”, which combines all of these aspects into one:

Modern ideologies (such as marxism, libertarianism, MAGAism, etc) have, in reference to the massive success of religious ideologies and their framework, constructed themselves as if they are religions.

What do I mean by this?

An all encompassing nature - religion is so sturdy because it attempts to provide a framework for every interaction between you and the rest of the world. Every person you meet, every word you hear from someone else, every thing you experience, you filter through your “belief framework”. In the past, this was basically limited to morality judgements “is this thing righteous or not?”

So even if your religious book(s) didn’t explicitly mention the scenario you find yourself in, religions offer enough “structure” such that any experience you undergo can be fed to this structure and an answer can be produced.

Modern political ideology has come to understand this, and has constructed itself such that now your political ideology can supplant your religious ideology, as your political ideology now can encompass your religious ideology and all the structure and function it provides (atleast, the political ideologies attempt this, I don’t think they’ve yet succeeded, which imo is why people who solely exercise a political ideology seem so schitzophrenic and unanchored in their beliefs/opinions).

These people are no different than “super fans” who go to “cons” to “LARP”, except the Harry Potter nerds have some slight degree of plausible deniability.

Even if flat earthers fail at proving the earth is flat, they do a good job of exposing NASA as being frauds and proving other lies about space, satellite orbits, etc.

Everyone here loves posts about facts, and things that can be proven, demonstrated, or atleast shown plausible. IMO, the moon landing appears to have been faked, but to go from that (and its associated evidence) to “therefore the earth is flat/space is fake” is just unjustified to me.

The problem with flat earth-ism is that like Q-ism and Scientism it isn’t presented from the context of isolated frauds or proven phenomena, it’s based on an all encompassing worldview which allows the believer to be able to flit from topic to topic without reconciling with what they got wrong or right. In their world nothing can be established as fact - yet paradoxically they’re beyond “convinced” of their beliefs. Atleast the ones I’m talking about when I vote yay. A handful of the best users on this site either have been convinced or lean strongly towards it. I’m not talking about those genuine, good faith users, I’m talking about the proven most prolific shill on the site, with THOUSANDS of accounts, having flat earth shit be one of his go to slide and manipulation topics

Imagine if this board became an extension of the Q psyop - flat earth is similar in the sense that it isn’t “just another conspiracy” where people debate facts back and forth, it’s instead more like a religion (just like Q worship). You can spend hours explaining the semi-complex information required to explain whatever phenomena is mystifying them in that post - but like jelly they slip through the fingers of your rational argument, and just shift the goalposts to some other phenomena they’re baffled by, which again requires multiple hours of in depth explanation. Usually, only to revert to their original stances the next morning, as if they didn’t have the first memory about the previous days conversation.

In 95% of cases it’s not argued in good faith, even if the person arguing it isn’t literally a bot or shill

Does that make you a communist?

Contribute to the discussion (or continue not to lol). You’re a big reason this post is being made (I’m sure)

Check the logs dude. Check c/meta...

The “savior” posts and the Amazon deals posts are removed as soon as a mod sees them. Many users have pointed out the Amazon spammer(s) to the site admins. Those are, unquestionably, slide posts.

Many of us think that just posting “100 proofs the world is flat” videos and doing zero work to actually explain your thoughts or their relevance is, similarly, a slide tactic. Unfortunately it’s such an effective slide tactic that otherwise “well-meaning” individuals can get tricked into being useful idiots and supporting it. Much like how homosexuals are treated by the mainstream with “well it’s not obvious to me that they’re hurting anyone, so WHO CARES!”

▲ 5 ▼
Graphenium 5 points ago +5 / -0

There are also proven shills who frequently post flat earth garbage to slide the forums such as OperationGlownigger - say, do you two know eachother?

▲ 5 ▼
Graphenium 5 points ago +5 / -0

We don’t want furries here crying about a “conspiracy to suppress the truth about fursonas” either.

Graphenium 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yay - surprised by the response

Perhaps a middle ground would satisfy more of us - no more than one flat earth topic per user per day (or perhaps something like “no contextless links to FE shit, submission/relevance statements required”

I’m sure if you asked “should we let people post msm articles about trump” all the free speech absolutists would change their tune, but who knows

Edit - frankly I could go either way on banning individual topics, I think what would be preferable is just instituting some kind of “low quality posts will be removed, in a transparent and appealable way” blanket approach. Because the problem isn’t really “flat earth” in and of itself, it’s forum sliding and subterfugic implosion of real discussion. Even if the topic got banned, the real shills would just switch to another topic like “loli” freedom of speech (seen a few discussions on that on other wins like KiA and gaming) or some other equally ridiculous bullshit and the “useful idiots” would start bleeting about chinese spy balloons or whatever the shiny thing that week was

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Do you prefer things from a western or eastern perspective?

Western: check out Energy Work by Robert Bruce he’s got a great “system” that he explains well through “tactile imagery”

Eastern: check out Qi-Gong Empowerment: A Guide to Medical, Taoist, Buddhist, and Wushu Energy Cultivation by Liang and Wu

Should be PDFs of both at your digital library of choice. I went through both at the same time, which was an interesting experience in its own right.

Likewise I’ll always recommend The Magus of Java on this subject, an excellent merging of West and East as a Greek mechanical engineer seeks out and trains under John Chang (from the video I always link) for 10 years, relaying his experiences and the lessons he had managed to learn.

The palms have been long known (by those with eyes and ears, in this case mainly the Eastern traditions) to act as “energy” exchange centers.

Have you ever done “energy circuit” or “energy ball” exercises (“Horse Stance” if you’ve studied the eastern schools)?

The only guy I’ve ever been convinced was capable of what gets called “magic” was a Christian with a Taoist philosophy of life who healed many thousands of people without ever charging. The only reason we know about him was he felt a responsibility to ensure this knowledge was preserved with the coming (in his time, it’s basically here now) shift of the ages. What you share / that guy claims makes sense for sure.

(If you’re interested in the guy I mention:)

And you may be interested similarly in the other posts on there (I’d love to see your own and others’ contributions, even if you’re just linking to posts you’ve made elsewhere!)

Edit) Weird, my links keep breaking today - I think it’s because I’m linking to both individual posts and whole .wins

I find a lot of interesting Christian discussion here, c/Christianity, and sometimes on c/ConsumeProduct

Which is good, because r*ddit has been unusable for me for the last 4-5 years.

But yeah, there really is so much there, so it’s so disingenuous of some (atheists) to dismiss it out of hand, and to a lesser extent the dogmatists who dismiss everything but their interpretations. It’s one thing to believe strongly in what you’ve come to think to be true - that’s a great thing - but it’s another thing entirely to close yourself off to everything else because more often than not you’ll miss out on even greater truths

Yknow, somehow even after a decade+ of general interest and seeking, I’ve never done a dive into Mystery Babylon and Bill Cooper (despite its obviously massive influence on the “conspiracy” discussion). I remember once finding a (massive) archive of all his radio broadcasts, but do you have anything that’s like an overview of his research or maybe a documentary or something? It’s just a little daunting to dive into some 400(?) hour experience, which is probably why I’ve put it off so long lol.

Interesting take on circumcision -

and now that you mention it, i can see a fair bit of overlap between the ancient “Mystery Schools” (which have their earliest recorded appearance in Egypt but could [and likely do] date even earlier) and MKUltra, namely the use of psychedelics under circumstances that are controlled and directed by someone else for “initiation”, use of symbolism as some kind of “mental code” which can be triggered or lie dormant, crazy amounts of secrecy and gradations of knowledge/initiation “lest the rabble discover our designs”, probably others too... very interesting indeed!

believe this is one of the things to come out of all the psychological experiments the CIA did (MK Ultra etc).

Agreed, or atleast, MKUltra spread this information (since realistically this pattern has been used for a long time, even prior to the formation of america)

I think the key point is Trauma-based mindkontrol/brainwashing. In an individual you can cause the trauma by torturing them physically, and psychologically, and pharmacologically (the LSD experiments), and even spiritually.

Where it gets even crazier is when you see this effect on the collective consciousness. Every false flag perpetuates this state of fear and trauma - from the Pearl Harbor FF, to the JFK/RFK false flags, to 9/11, to coofvid 19, and on to the next one.

You could even paint much of the “hellfire preaching” of the past in a similar light of trauma-induced mind control.

Because my humor lacks an official canon, I can neither confirm nor deny its presence, as it could change at any time due to any person writing a “commentary” about it!

LMFAO

One possibility is the idea of the “magical” or “Enochian” language:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enochian

If “spelling & grammar” became “spells and grimoires” - maybe the idea of an “original” language that “facilitated magic” (don’t ask me how lol) isn’t so far fetched
