So hospitals everywhere threw out decades of knowledge and experience in how to treat respiratory infections to just ventilate everyone, and of course this policy killed huge numbers of people in early 2020. The panic was real, in new york something like 80-90% of people died, but it wasn't the 'virus' it was the treatment itself. We know this because when they stopped venting everywhere the death rate plunged.
