the reason he is getting any reading at all, is because the human body has some capacitance, so the 9V power supply of the DMM is actually able to push a few electrons into your body.
as your body fills up with electrons, it reaches its full capacitance, and it becomes more difficult for the 9V power supply to push more electrons into the body.
thats why the "current" starts higher, and then goes lower.
you can replicate this experiment on yourself with any DMM.
swap the leads, and watch the meter bleed the electrons back out of your body.
