to argue the central bank should be free from democratic influences is slave talk. You should go one step further and just admit you desire the rulers of the country be free from democratic influences as in your previous comment (no politician wants to do difficult things on their watch).
It's nonsensical to argue that the central bank be free from democratic influences but the government not be. This amounts to civilization of slaves that are passively given the toy steering wheel to give the illusion of control (using the analogy lyn gives). The power contains within a central bank rivals the power of the government.
I don't get central banking as such, I don't think the author makes a good case as to why the central bank can't just forgive all the debt.
If the Fed were to just forgive half of the Treasuries, or $2.866 trillion worth of them, that would reduce the asset side of the Fed’s balance sheet by that amount, without affecting the liability side. They would have $6.012 trillion in assets, $8.837 trillion in liabilities, and thus be insolvent with -$2.825 in capital.
Would that affect anything overnight if they did that? Not necessarily, no. Some central banks have had slightly negative capital before; it’s not as though the world stops spinning if that happens. This is what makes central banks different than commercial banks.
However, if the central bank has trillions of dollars in negative capital, it is no longer independent, because it is no longer solvent. It has no real authority to do anything independently at that point, all illusions of independence are gone, and it is entirely reliant on the government for its solvency. The whole idea of how money works in the modern fiat currency system ceases to make sense at that point.

Most governments that desire not to be “banana republics” maintain some degree of separation between the government and the central bank. The president or prime minster of a country cannot just dictate central bank policy, in other words. This is because this level of control would be too prone to manipulation.

On the one hand you claim this, then you quote Luther on how Jews steal all they can. I don't believe Jews are the smartest, or most talented. Jews are intelligent BUT they also have a tremendous support network and ethnic preference not common within other races. As such, I believe much of their success is not solely from intelligence but also "Jews helping Jews" - a conspiracy if you will. Jews seem to be the only race playing the ethnic-domination game whereas no other race has a collective sense of identity this strong. So to attribute their success solely to intelligence and skill without acknowledging the "Jews helping Jews" conspiracy is wrong.
If you were to gather all whites, or asians, and give them a good support network (strong families) and instill in them that they are gods-chosen people and they belong in a particular homeland and that the world hates them and they have to band together I suspect you would see similar results of domination by these two ethnic groups.
It makes more sense to think of 'end times' in a relative-framework as opposed to an absolute framework. Are the 'end times' the absolute end of the world? I don't know, but it does seem to be the 'end times' of the American empire - and for us that's really all that matters. If the apocalypse happens to you then the apocalypse happened - it doesn't matter whether it happened the whole world. (For many in WWII the apocalypse/end of the world already occurred).
I think whatever collapse occurs, life, in some capacity, will continue; however, it won't continue as we know at as such the 'end times' will be fulfilled for us. Reality also seems to be guided largely by perception, and it appears the majority of people are anticipating/expecting/believing in the 'end times' which will most likely make it manifest ....relatively speaking.
