Two acre garden in the wilderness? You’re living the dream!

I’ve a personal preference towards permaculture style gardens. My plants have to go in the ground, if I pot them I’m likely to also kill them... Our thumbs aren’t yet the greenest. But for us, priority #1 is always getting perennials established. Herb gardens and berry patches are such an easy and rewarding starting point for anyone looking to grow something edible.

As for skills, we divide and conquer for now. Husband handles the tool belt, and I handle things like canning and fiber crafts or textiles. That division of labor may not work for everyone, but it’s perfect for us.

In response to your last paragraph... You’ve clearly never been out to the west coast. Washington, Oregon, California... the NPC’s are very real here. Their name is Legion, for they are many.

Well said. This is the mindset in our household as well. We’re young, and not nearly as self sufficient as we’d like... we want a small self sustaining homestead to pass down to our child. Every choice we make now is made with the intent that it will get us closer to that dream.

We’re working on turning our small suburban home into a tiny homestead as a “practice run” while we save up for the real thing. And we’re constantly adding to our list of skills and practical hobbies so we can pass knowledge down to our little one.

The ability to provide necessities for yourself and your loved ones is worth more than all the sparkly and shiny things in the world.

P.S. Building a nice home library never hurts, just be sure to include some field guides and reference books.

Maybe. Or maybe they can see that the same elites screaming “oppression!” are the ones holding the whips... I’m not in their head, but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also a fun little fact: your cartilage never stops growing... so features like your ears and nose keep growing as you get older.

What are “forced monkey labor allegations?” I’m envisioning a factory being run by disgruntled monkeys in little uniforms... and I know that can’t be right.

Showers with Dad (or Mom) as a baby or toddler. When you’re still too little to wash yourself and need help/supervision. But assuming nothing inappropriate happens, you wouldn’t remember those showers when you grew up.

Dangerous line of thoughts I’m seeing here... just because people are misinformed or have low IQs doesn’t give someone else the right to “cull” or sterilize them. Lack of understanding/belief is not the same thing as informed consent.

Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness.

Uhm, yeah? Watches are useful. Allows you the ability to ignore your phone or even leave it behind and still know what time it is.

So, can we modify this to allow online purchases from small farms and shops maybe? Lots of little fish in that sea... and I see no reason they should suffer for the sins of the big fish.

Part 7 is finally out? You just made my night!
