Agreed. Just try to go to your friendly local bank branch and withdraw $5000 cash. They immediately get suspicious and start asking you what you're using it for and say there's reporting involved to notify the government that you're a potential criminal. If they don't outright refuse to give you your money they will still give you hell over it. And that's if you're a good upstanding citizen. If you do something they don't like then they just seize your account and all your assets.
Safe to say this situation is unprecedented. Time to start thinking outside the box.

I seem to remember many years ago when the top members of Anonymous were tracked down and arrested. They gave up the info of other members of the group as part of their plea deal. It started out as a populist hacker group but it clearly was broken up and now big daddy government wears the mask.
I mean, we saw what happened at the UN today. Evidence doesn't matter because everything coming from Russia is labeled "disinformation." Our opponents believe they can instantiate truth by the force of their will alone.
Russia did get a chance for rebuttal and the diplomat waved some papers in the air but I didn't get the feeling anyone believed him. The US representative just dismissed everything as "disinformation" without even attempting to address Russia's claims. Now where have we seen that technique before? Oh that's right, the past 2 years!

I dunno, I just did several searches about Russia and everything seems normal on DDG. I even did a search for "rt" and the first result is the popular Russian news site. Maybe the censorship is happening on small, hard-to-notice websites?
