And Russia could have taken a stance before 2014 when the CIA executed the coup in Ukraine (so-called Maidan Revolution). And start military operations when Estonia, Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria joined NATO in 2004. Estonia shares a border with Russia and Romania and Bulgaria share access to the Black Sea.
