It's a weak theory that only serves to make our side look crazy. Its adherents (like Flat Earthers) are very zealous and cult like in their behavior and utterly convinced of the extreme importance of pushing this theory above all others right now. However like with Flat Earth they provide us with a model of reality that is more easily debunked than our current functional model.

at the deepest level of both areas there seems to be a common trend or conclusion. That everything that has happened to us is a result of some small powerful group controlling and pulling the strings behind the scenes and hiding our true history and origin

bare in mind I dont speak for everyone, theres tons of theories and its not 100% black and white but there seems to be a common one associated with alien intervention and the possibility that we are being ruled by a secret alien race

now within the flat earth community (some) have incorporated there own theory on this and tbh its fucking interesting.

alot of flat earthers believe the same idea, that everything is the result of us being controlled but instead of aliens were being controlled and influenced by a highly advanced ancient race of humans.

Sure there are a few morons who don't know any better and fell for it, but the vast majority of the posters want to destroy the achievements of the white man and make anyone associated with conspiracies look like a looney tune.

So I was discussing general conspiracy theories with someone and the subject of flat Earth came up. I'm not very knowledgeable on this so I didn't do a great job explaining why someone would think the Earth is flat.

Can anyone give me the main reason why flat Earthers believe what they believe? I gather it's an elite/resources thing to restrict the plebs from some amazing hidden area that is off limits. Something to do with Antarctica?

What are the top 5 reasons people can justify this claim with that haven't already been debunked? I tried to have a look myself but there is a whole lot of crazy out there on this subject.

Their goal is to discredit the grass root flat earth movement. They make ridiculous claims that can be easy disproved, all in order to get you back to believing in the globe again. First result that showes up when googling flat earth is not going to be telling you the truth. People debunking claims made by flat earth society means absolutely nothing, about as meaningful as asking the Pope about what the Bible says.

Do your own research, that is all I can ask. It is a over 500 year old conspiracy, so of course they have set up a counter narrative. When people discover the truth, they try and infiltrate it, and destroy it from within. Do I need to point out the growth of antisemitism here on this site, you think this is organic? They are losing the narrative and is desperate to destroy us, so they try and do it from within. Anything to keep us from waking up.
